The firm will collect information from car dealers between San Francisco and Portland in regard to the styles, makes and other information on cars in stock. The dealers will keep the office here in formed of their inventories. In turn, dealers in the various cities, when they do not have a particular car in stock wanted by a customer, will check with the center to learn which dealer in the area may have the de sired automobile. The dealers can then "swap" cars to serve better and quicker their buying public. For the present this service will include General Motors, Ford and Chrysler companies. Blind Teacher Here Mrs. Vera Thompson, Portland, home teacher for the Oregon Commis sion for the Blind, is spending a few days in the city and will be available for consultations with persons having sight difficulties. Mrs. Thompson is a guest in the home of Mrs.' Chris Zink, 19 South Louis ave., and may be reached by calling 2-8034. Mrs. Thompson instructs in Braille and crafts for the blind and ad vises on restoration and conser vation of sight. To Eugene Mr. and Mrs. John Rossi, 919 Whitman place, left today for Eugene where Rossi will transact business. The couple will also attend the state basketball tournament. They plan to return Sunday. Theft Reported Mrs. Zelda F. Edmondson,1 Box 45, Butte Falls, has reported the theft of four wheels and tires from a trailer. The matter is being in vestigated by Roy Green, Butte Falls marshal, and by sheriff's deputies. Model Contest The Medford Prop Nuts will hold a free flight model airplane contest Sunday, March 20, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Contest site is one-half mile west of the Camp White mills. There will be events for Junior and Open age groups. Preschool Clinic A clinic for preschool age children and in fants will be conducted, Mon day, March 21, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lone Pine school. Immunization against smallpox, diphtheria . and whooping cough will be offered. Dr. A. Erin Merkel, county health officer will be in charge. Appointments may be made by calling a Mrs. Mitchel at t-'e-hone 3-3940. Advent Christians The Rev. David Roehl, pastor of the Ad vent Christian church, corner of Jackson and Welch sts., will speak during the regular services Sunday at 11 a.m., and junior loyal workers of the church will meet at 6:30 p.m. that day. The evening sermon will begin at 7.:30 o'clock when the Rev. Roehl again will speak, and on Tuesday a prayer meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. The junior choir members plan to practice Wednesday at 6:30 p.m., follow ed by orcehstra practice. Mrs. Bryan Gossett will have charge of the church school sessions at 9:45 a.m., Sunday. Millionairess Suing Gilliland for Divorce C. Ray Gilliland, 61, former ly of the Medford area, is being sued for divorce by-his 74-year-old wife of less than a year, ac cording to the San Francisco Examiner. Gilliland, a mining promoter, who formerly operated a fish, fur and game farm near Pros pect, was married to Elsinore Machris Gilliland last year in a lavish, $30,000 - wedding in Hollywood. Bowman, a Navy fireman, brother of Mrs. E. R. Pavton, C st., Jacksonville, is serving on the destroyer USS Stembel. Before entering the Navy in August. 1954, he at tended Jacksonville high school. RETURNS Perry L. Kuhn, a Navy boats wain's mate third class, 407 Beatty st., was scheduled to re turn March 13 to San Diego, Calif., on the destroyer USS Arnold J. Isbell after complet ing a six month tour of duty in the Far East. The ship was one of those of Destroyer Division 112 which left in September for operations with the 7th fleet. They were assigned as part of the screening force for fast car rier Task Force 77 and with the surface gunfire support force during the Tachen islands evacuation. RECEIVES BARS William G. Gaines, Route 1, received the bars of a warrant office and pilot's wings follow ing his graduation from the Army cargo helicopter pilot course recently at Ft. Sill, Okia. He has been in the service for 10 years and served for 18 months in the Far East and Ko rea. He has been awarded the Korean Presidential citation, Korean Theater ribbon with three stars and the United Na tions ribbon. Prior to his pro motion, the warrant officer was a sergeant first class. He attended elementary junior and senior high schools in Medford. ? WITH 82nd AIRBORNE' Kenneth R. Billings, an Army private, son of Mr. and Mrs. Custer R. White, 376 Winema Way, recently made his fifth parachute jump with the 82nd Airborne division at Ft. Bragg, N. C. This marked the end of three weeks of intensive phy sical and technical training and which qualified him as a para trooper. He is a clerk typist with the 782nd ordinance bat talion, a unit of the airborne division.
