The popularity of this guidebook for diabetics is attest ed by the fact that it is now in j more its fifth edition. It is scientif c and eminently practical. For instance Dr. Duffie tells how to make your own urine tests ior sugar at one-tenth of the cost of the ordinary Benedict's solution test, although he mentions both "Clin itest" and "Galatest." A copy of the book would make a fine val entine for anyone who is training for diabetes. Price $2. Publisher Dr. Don H. Duffie, Central Lake, Michigan. This state is known as insulin shock. Identical manifestations may occur in persons who are not diabetic, and then the state is called hyperinsulinism. In either case the immediate cause of the symptoms is reduction of the level of blood sugar, and this low blood sugar level calls for the same first aid or emergency treatment as does insulin shock in a diabetic any Kind or car bohydrate food, pronto.
