" o The tickets may be obtained from any Medford Kiwanis club member 'and are available at many downtown stores where signs are posted; "Tel-A-Version," the 1955 Kapers show will be presented Feb. 23, 24, 25, and 26 at the senior high school auditorium. Rehearsals have been underway for more than a week. Advance Director Don Han sen of Lassen productions out lined the show to Kiwanians yesterday at , their luncheon meeting at Rogue Valley Coun try club. He said that the Ka pers this year are "our" versions of different types of television programs today. , , There are take-offs on the bal let, "Space Patrol," western TV movies, "Dragnet" and the "Hit Parade" among the various scenes. Six scenes plus a pro logue make up the first act and the second act is a telecast re view presented in the Fred War ing manner. The last act will be presented with a singing chor us made up of Kiwanians and their wives. Hansen described the show as "different", from past produc tions. The cast calls for 130 characters. Ray Lewis is pianist for the production. ' - The Kapers form the Medford club's major fund-raising activ ity for its boys and girls un- derprivileged children's projects. 2 Accidents Listed In Cify; None Hurt Two automobile accidents were reported to city police yes , terday in Medford. Neither of the mishaps involved personal injuries. The first . occurred at about 9 a.m. when a panel truck op erated by Floreon Kenneth Wa ters, 1003 West 10th st., was c involved in a collision with a pickup truck driven by Lillie Effie Rose, route 3, box 148, Medford. The accident happened cat the intersection of 12th st. 0 and Riverside ave. Waters was cited for failure to stop at a red light, police said. . . . Cars driven by Carl Alfred Fodge, 335 Edwards st., and Del bert Marshall ' Boyd, 1554' Bid die rd., were involved' in the second accident, which occurred at the intersection of Riverside ave. and Sixth st. at about 8:55 p.m. Investigating officers said Boyd was cited for failure to make a proper hand signal. THE RIGHT PLACE ; St. Paul (U.R) An assist ant sergeant-at-arms in Minne sota's house of representatives is 'John Law. The honor court, which coin cided with Boy Scout week, marking the 45th anniversary of Scouting in the United States, was held in the Medford Junior High school. N. H. (Duke) Glad felter was commissioner of the court. Mayor Earl Miller spoke brief ly at the opening of the cere mony, detailing the worth of the Scouting movement to each community in which it operates. He is a former scout leader. Eagle Rank Ferris Simpson received the Eagle rank from J. A. McDou gall, commissioner of the coun cil. Life rank awards were pre sented by John Patton to Ronnie Miller, Dale Foresee and Dewey Gail, all of Troop 2. Chuck Finch, Post 8, received Explorer" skill ratings from Harry Barne burg. Star rank awards were presented by John Eddy to Reg gie Breeze and Raymond Kono pasek, Troop .13; Hank Harbert and Bob Swan, Troop 3; Curtis Cook, Lanny Bostwick and El gan Cook, Troop 16, and Frank Balch, Troop 43, Gold Hill. First class badges were pres sented by Gene Kooser to 11 scouts, Donald Wilson, Troop' 7; Michael Kaiser, Gary Kaiser, Dean Tibbitts and Jim Bunker, Troop 48; Richard. K. Staff and Larry McDowell, Troop 6; Rich ard Andre, Troop 13, and Jim Lacy and Douglas Kleiver, Troop 3. Second Class Fourteen boys received second class rank from R. D. Church. They wer.e Raymond Thompson and Everett Overhold, Troop 15; Dig Ragsdale; Troop" 13 Rus sell Walker, Wade Starks, Joe Stallings, James Shope, Leonard Lemings and Raymond Smith, Troop 6; Eddie Graham, Troop 35; Fred Drysdale and Billy Hedrick, Troop 9; Joe Andrews, Troop 48, and Richard M. Dop kins, Troop 7. , Forty-five boys received a total of 84 merit badges from Sheril Doty, and special awards were presented to five units. Troop 2 and 9; Posts 3 and 8, and Air Squadron 14, for having a 40 per cent or greater member ship with first class ribbons. Ray Johnson announced the winners in the Boy Scout week window display contest. The grand champion award was won by Cub Pack 6, sponsored by the Washington school Parent-Teacher association. Their award was in the Feldman and Olson win dow, and showed the 12 themes used in their pack program last year, one for each month, plus the various crafts on which the boys had worked y during the year. Other Awards I Other top awards were, for Packs, first, Pack 8, Jackson school PTA, in Newberry's win dow, and second, Pack 2, Lin coln school PTA, in Mann's win dow; for Troops, first Troop 13, Presbyterian church, .: in Cali fornia Pacific Utilities company window, and second, Troop 3, Medford Lion's club, in Burel son's window; for Posts, first, Troop 16, Knights of Pythias, in Cronin Insurance company win dow, prepared by Explorer Crew 16; and, second, Squadron 14, American Legion, Weeks and Orr window. . Hugh Rader, deputy regional scout executive, will arrive in Medford today to attend a coun cil charter review meeting this evening, to be held in connec tion with an executive board meeting of the Crater Lake Area council of the Boy Scouts. . (U.R) A fugitive and his terrified teen age girl hostage burned to death today when their car crashed in flames during a wild ride to escape police. The escape car smashed into a police cruiser after a 60-mile-an-hour sprint across 30 miles of crowded New Jersey highways. The victims were identified as Leonard Pasco, 27, of Bound Brook, N. J., and his hostage, Constance Cobb, 17, of Mill town, N.J. New Jersey state troopers said Pasco was approached by Pa trolman Hylan Petry in Mill town Wednesday night on sus picion because Pasco's trousers were wet to the knee. Pasco wrestled with Petry, whipped out a gun, took Petry's pistol, and fled on foot. About an hour later Pasco came upon four youths parked in a car at a lovers lane in New Brunswick township. He order ed the youths out of the car and then told Constance to drive him away. "Do what I tell, you or I'll kill you," he told Constance ac cording to the youths with her. Police said the car was later seen speeding along a highway in Elizabeth with Constance dri ving and Pasco sitting behind her with a gun at her head. Warnings were sent out and a roadblock set up in Jersey City. The car " driven by Con stance smashed into a cruiser forming the roadblock.
