Central, Medford, Ore. Your Health and Its Care By DR. WILLIAM BRADY, M.D. Readers should address inquiries to: William Brady, 263 El Camino, Beverly Hills, Calif. BETTER LATE THAN NEVER After two years of treatment with medicine and shots for so called "arthritis," I realized I was steadily getting no bet ter. So I dis continued the doctor's treat ment, wrote for your pam phlet on Rheu matiz, began Ca, D, and B complex as v n 11 . ciiTspt. Dr. Brady That was in April, '54. Have never seen my doctor since. AH of the pain has left my knees and I feel fine. Married 46 years, now in my 70th year and hoping we can celebrate our golden wedding ... so I am inclosing stamped, self-addressed envelope for The Iodin Ration. We are grateful . . . (Mrs. E. J. C.) ' Now, see here. The pamphlet Calcium and Rheumatiz is avail able on written request, if you provide stamped, self-addressed envelope. When you send, for it you had better inclose ten cents and ask for The Iodin Ration, too. Drat it, I was about to subject the amiable Mrs. E. J. C. to. a brisk round of choice grade A invective. I might have asked whether the Rheumatiz pamphlet is too long, or whether the print is too fine, or whether my lan guage is not intelligible. In short why in the why do so many readers start on the Ca and ,D and the B-complex and become interested in I only months later, if at all? But by bitter experience I have learned at last not to blow my top like that until I have checked and double-checked. .... This precaution probably saves me some embarrassment. On the other hand, when I discover on examination of the rheumatiz pamphlet that I have omitted mention of iodin deficiency, as one of the f actors that must be corrected, I am so perturbed that well, it's lucky for you poor souls with the rheumatiz that I can put these petty problems out of my mind and hie to the bowl ing green this beautiful sunny afternoon. After the game I'll de cide whether to scrap the last Nuclear Energy Unseen As Coal Replacement Springfield, 111. U.R) An economist predicts that nuclear energy won't compete seriously with coal for 10 to 15 years. Dr: W. H. Voskuil of the Illi nois State Geological Survey told the Illinois Mining Iinstitute that even then nuclear energy won't displace coal in existing utility plants. '. ; Voskuil said that the principal cause of decline in the coal in dustry in recent years is that railroads have been switching to diesel (oil-burning) locomotives. Atom-Powered Sub Has Rubber Ears Akron, O. (U.P.) The world's first atom-powered submarine has rubber ears. The rubber was specially de veloped by B. F. Goodrich here to permit sound waves to pass through it in about the same manner as sound travels through the sea itself. It's used as a part of the hull of the U.S. Navy sub marine, Nautilus, to house sonar gear that depends on sound waves fo detect other surface or undersea craft. The company's engineers say the use of any material that does not share the characteris tics of seawater would cause the sonar signals to blank out or distort so that a target could not be located accurately. Will they do any harm? (Mrs. V. D.) Answer Charcoal is harmless, but I have never seen evidence that it absorbs enough gas to matter. Some better remedies are described in the pamphlet YANKEE STOMACH, for which send stamped, self - addressed envelope. Praise From Sir Hubert? It may please you to know that our dentist not only approves of your teachings but keeps reprints cf some of your pieces on hand to hand to his patients.
