Yellow Cab Wins 74-56 Over Firmco Who is the independent bas ' ketball power of southern Ore- gon? Could it be Yellow C3b or Medford? The Cabbies, unmarred co leader in the Medford Independ ent league, lashed Firmco of Myrtle Creek 74 to 56 here last night and the victory was more decisive than the unai xaouia tion indicated. ! v . Tirmm ram tn Medford rid ing on the crest of 11 straight victories this season, only lasx week' the Douglas county quint was ballyhooed as the court ti tan in this area. That was right after Firmco tipped the Cabbies 85 to 81 at Myrtle Creek. ' Yellow Cab, spurred by the hnntincr of Ed Hummel, Don Wendt, Johnny Foster and Bill Werner and the backooara wore f Vnster. Hummel and Chuck Stacy, won last night on its 28 point outburst in the third quar ter. The Mediord team neaaea only 32 to .31 gomg into .the imnH half..-.-. . -s ... While the Cabbies were r on their scoring binge, Myrtle Creek got only six tallies.
