mits you to work.
;r It is very kind and generous of
your son to, want you to live with
him and get a good rest. But you
would feel that you were in the
way, that you were a financial
burden to him, and that, your
daughter-in-law - might resent
your being in the home when
you are capable of working.
The only other advice I can
give you is to make arrange
ments, before taking the job you
have been offered or any similar
job, to have some free time. You
owe it to yourself not to be tied
down hand and foot As an em
ployee, you are entitled to some
free 'time.-See that you get it or
are paid extra' for continuous
work.

Your Health and Its Care

THE KIDS AND
That the presence of tonsils or

Dr. Brady siderable num

I have aften referred to ton

mean atrocity. Esneciallv when
it is perpetrated an a child. Even

post-operative pneumonia, lung

sufficient evidence to prove that
tonsillectomy is necessary, ex

. Tonsillotomy means sninnincr
off the enlarged or obstructing
portion of tonsil with the snick

called the tonsillotome. It is a
minor operation, instantaneous,
as painful, and as dangerous as
extracting a tooth. Like extrac
tion oi a tooth it may be done
under general anesthesia ' local
anesthesia or none, in the doc-

ror s oince or tne patient's nome.
Tonsillectomv means extensive
dissection of the throat in the
attempt to remove every bit of
tonsil tissue or, trying to "get all
the tonsil" as though tonsil tis
sue were in itself harmful.
Tonsillectomy is a major oper
ation involving serious hazards
to uie in every instance.
The doctor who misrepresents
the facts in order to persuade
parents to consent gambles with
the lives of children whose tonsils
are enlarged. as children's ton-
sus are liKeiy to be in the winter
and spring.
If the school doctor, or maybe
the nurse, takes a look at your
child's throat and sends you a
note saying the tonsils should be
"removed," remember the report
of Dr. Barron of Addison. a
school doctor he found many or
mosi ox tne scnool children he
examined had enlarffPd tonsils
He followed the routine, advis
ing xneir parents to consult their
family nhysician about removal
of -thevtonsils. Few or none did.
Then in the autumn, after sum
mer vacation, Dr. Barron exam
ined the same school children
again. He found most of the en
larged tonsils had somehow
