Father Omitted The name of the father of Bruce Bailey, re cently enlisted, in the U. S. Air Force here, was inadvertenty omitted from a recent story. The father, William N. Bailey, is a Medford resident, as is the boy's mother, Mrs. Thomas McCarvel. . . Youth Charged A 16-year-old Medford youth was charged Saturday with drunk and dis orderly after beina arrested at the T-Pee Dance hall, according to the sheriff's office. Mr. Langell died here Monday. Mr. Langell was born in Jack sonville on Jan. 1, 1878, a son of Nathaniel and Loretta Jane (Hensley) Langell. Survivors in clude two sisters, Mrs. C. S. Moore, Pasadena, Calif., and Mrs. Harry E. Foster, Long Bech, Calif., and several nieces and nephews. The Rev. George R. DON PARTON Services for Don Perry Par ton, 56, who died Monday, will be held in Conger-Morris chapel Thursday at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. R. H. Mathewson of the Four Square Gospel church offi ciating. Interment will be in Trail cemetery. The deceased was born Feb. 15, 1898, in North Garolina, and had lived in southern Oregon since 1933. WILL DRIVE ME TO SCHOOL, Pop? o Vehicles Collide; Driver is Cited Vehicles driven by Emerson Glen Wolfe, 64, of 801 North Central ave., and Leonard Carl Venschoon, 27, route 1, box 384, Medford, collided at about 5:12 p.m. yesterday, according to state police. k The accident was on the Old Stage rd. near the intersection with Happy Valley drive. Of ficers said Wolfe was cited for failure to yield the right of way after the accident. There were minor personal injuries and con siderable damage to the ve hicles, officers reported. In an accident story in yester day's Mail Tribune, it was in correctly reported that a car driven by Raymond Walter Brown, Sweet Home, struck parked cars and also involved one driven by "Richard G. Kaegi, 29, Talent. State police reports indicated that it was the Kaegi car' which hit the one driven by Brown, and then veered across the highway into parked cars. Kaegi was hospitalized. Dianna Bixby's Body Taken To Santa Paula Santa Paula, Calif. U.R) The body of famed woman pilot Dianna Bixby, killed when her-plane crashed into the sea, was to be returned to her child hood home here today. Funeral services for the not ed aviatrix, a veteran multi-engine pilot of more than 5,000 hours, will be arranged by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Con verse. Her grief -stricken husband, pilot Robert Bixby, Monday flew the body of his famous wife in their own DC-3 plane some 600 miles from Baja California to Long Beach, Calif., where they operated an. air freight service. Mrs. Bixby's body was found still strapped to the pilot's seat in the submerged wreckage of her freight carrying converted bomber which crashed Monday near Loreto, on the Peninsula. January 4, 1955 Bad Check Passer Placed on FBI List Washington (U.PJ The FBI today put a chronic, nomadic bad check passer on its list of "10 most wanted" fugitives.. He is George Lester Belew, 41-year-old native of Mountain View, Mo., wanted for assaulting a jailer last July in escaping from the Hays, Kan., jail where he was being held on a fraudu lent check charge. The FBI said Belew since 1953 alone has passed bogus checks in 20 states from Cal ifornia to Michigan and from Oregon to Louisiana. He replaces John Harry Allen on the FBI's fugitive list. Allen, a southwest robber and escape artist, was arrested by local police at Fort Smith, Ark., on Dec. 21. Belew was born in Mountain View on Oct. 31, 1913. He be came an expert in forgery at the age of 17 when, in 1931, he was sentenced to a 10 year term in the Iowa State Reformatory at Anamosa. Atomic Warhead Tests Possible Washington U.R) Atomic warheads for guided missiles may be among the new secret weapons to be put through their paces in atomic tests in Nevada next month. The Atomic Energy commis sion announced Sept. 24 that a new series of weapons tests will be held in mid-February at the Frenchman and Yucca Flats pro ving ground near Las Vegas. While the AEC did not spec ify what types of weapons will be tested, there was speculation in' informed circles .here that the tests will involve guided missiles, possibly including some designed to knock down enemy atom and hydrogen bombers. MOD Coin Collectors, Cards Distributed March of Dimes coin collect ors were distributed to places of business in Medford yesterday by members of the Medford Ac tive club, it was announced today by Tom Reeder, Medford chair man. The Active Club annual ly sponsors the drive to raise funds to combat polio in the county. Coin cards are being mailed to residents of the city through cooperation of Howard Steno graphic Service and the local chapter of the National Secre tary's association. (U.R) Richard Warren, 31, was charg ed Monday with -writing bad checks less than 20 hours after he was released from Waupun State prison where he had serv ed time for writing bad checks. December Weather Here Cooler and Dryer Than Normal December in Medford was slightly colder and slightly dry er than normal, the weather bu reau reported today. The highest temperature re corded during the month was 61 degrees on the 5th, and the cold est was 17 degrees on the 7th. The monthly average tempera ture was 38.2 degrees, or .3 of a degree below normal. Precipitation during the month totaled 2.25 inches, or .88 of an inch below normal. A total of 1.2 inches of snow was measured during the month, and the great est amount on the ground at one time was 1 inch on the 28th. Mostly Cloudy There were four clear days, four which were partly cloudy, and 23 cloudy days, which com pared to the 42-year average of two clear days, five partly cloudy and 24 cloudy. In Ashland, the highest tem perature was 60 degrees on the 17th and 18th, and the lowest was 14 on the 27th. Average temperature was 28.6, or .1 of a degree below normal. Total precipitation there was 1.44 inches, or 1.69 below nor mal. Greatest amount of- snow on the ground was a half inch on the 28th. In Grants Pass, 56 degrees on the 31st cf the month was the highest, and 23 on the 27th was the lowest. ' Average tem perature was 39.3 degrees, or .2 of a degree below normal.
