Local and Personal Billfold Missing Earl W il ia rd Morsy, 223 West Main St., reported to city police Tuesday that his billfold containing about $100 was missing. Improved Mrs. Alice Vin cent, Bybee corner, Jacksonville highway, who has been ill since Thanksgiving day, is now able to sit up each day, friends re ported today. To Eugene Mr. and Mrs. James A. Medley, 333 West Jackson st, plan to leave Fri day, Dec. 24, for Eugene to visit through the holidays with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. James D. Harpole, and family. i Farm Name Betty Jean and Ralph J. Ellis have filed an ap plication to register the farm name Forest Edge with the county clerk's office. The prop erty owner resides at route 2, box 568, Central Point. Coat Missing Ralph Angus Alwood, 126 Cottage st., report ed to city police Tuesday that his $85 topcoat was stolen from Room 310, Fhihrer building, sometime between 1:45 and 2:15 p.m. . Man Jailed James White Hepburn, 46, Room 9, Lake ho tel, pleaded guilty in municipal court to a vagrancy charge yes terday and was sentenced to 30 days in the city jail, according to police records. On Carrier Clyde D. Wil liams, a Navy seaman and son of Mr. and Mrs. C. D. Williams, Eagle Point, is serving on the attack aircraft carrier USS York- town, according to a Navy, re lease. His wife, the former Miss Elsie R. Gascon, is of Gold Hill He entered the service in Octo ber, 1951, and attended Eagle Point High school. Flue Fire East side station firemen were called to a flue fire about 3 p.m. yesterday at the Jack Bertrand residence, 519 Oregon terrace. They reported no damage. West side station firemen extinguished a trash fire in the 2100 block on West Main st. abput 6:45 p.m. It was "burn ing unattended and alter burn ing hours. ' On Program Pfc. El wood L. Kinton, route 1, box 412, Med ford, will be heard on a special Christmas program to be broad cast by radio stations affiliated with ihe Don Lee Broadcasting system on Christmas day, Sat urday, Dec. 25, from 3:30 to 4 p.m. His message will be a part of a special Christmas day pro gram furnished to .Don Lee headquarters in Hollywood by the chief of information office, department of the Army, ac cording to the release from the radio system. A total of 35 sep arate Christmas messages , will be included and were recorded for Don Lee in Korea, Japan and Okinawa. . To Pick Up Trees Prelim inary plans are being made by the local chapter of the Moose lodge to pick up old Christmas trees on Jan. 2, which also will benefit the March of Dimes drives. The lodge officers ask that householders include an envelope with their contribute to MOD wth the trees. The same evening the trees will be burned in a large bonfire in the Camp White area which the pub lic is invited to watch. The lodge men plan to drive through all Medford streets with trucks to pick up the trees. Further an nouncements will be made con cerning the project. Ai Osteopathic Charles De Wolfe, 1119 West Main st., was admitted last evening as a medi cal, patient at Osteopathic hos pital, attendants reported today. . Church Concert Presbyter ian Chancel choir members will present a concert of Christmas music at a candlelight service beginning at 11 p. m. Christmas eve. Several guest soloists will sing and special choir numbers provided. The public is invited. Envelope Lost Harold Theo dore Brinckley, 409 North Cen tral ave., reported to city police yesterday that a white envelope containing $30 has been lost. It contained an employees' fund to purchase a Christmas gift - for the Sisters at Sacred Heart hos pital. Accident A two-vehicle col lision occurred at the intersec tion of 10th and Orange sts. Tuesday afternoon, according to city police records.- Drivers were Minnie Alice Apollo, 508 Hamil ton st., and Richard Frank Bab cock, 910 West 11th st. No cita tions were issued, police said. Cars Collide Vehicles driven by Alva Lewis Reed, Lawn ridge ave., and Gordon Albert James, 1426 Euclid ave., col lided at the intersection of Geneva and East Main sts, at about 5:15 p.m. yesterday, ac cording to city police. James was cited for following too close, the accident report said. '' Visiting Miss Eleanor Leib- brand, University of Oregon stu dent, and Richard Leibbrand, who attends Oregon Technical institute, are here to visit rela tives and friends during the holi day season. They are at the home of Mr. and -Mrs. C. F. Ingwerson, 22 Vz West Jackson st. Son Visits Ralph Ettel Jr., who has been at school at the Navy Air base, Lakehurst, N. J., has been visiting at the home of his parents , at 1 Katherine court He is to report Dec. 27 to Mare Island Navy base to the USS Rendova as an aerographer mate. He previously was study ing at Norman, Okla., and he was assigned last March from the Navy air reserve. He is a Medford High school graduate and University of Oregon stu dent before his assignment. - On Leave AM2c Winston Kurth is visiting his mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. Charles A. Miller, 1980 Barnett rd. He is accompanied by AB3 Myron Anderson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Anderson, Two Rivers, Wis. Both Kurth and Anderson are stationed with the Navy at Whidby Island, Wash., and are visiting here on leave. Kurth is a Medford High school gradu ate and a former member of the football team. He will be dis charged from the service in April, 1955, after four years. The two plan to be here about a week, and arrived Wednesday. Return To Live Mr. and Mrs. Victor Seeberger and children, Danny and Vickie, recently re turned here to live. They are from Salt Lake City, Utah, and now live at 148 Winema way. He is stationed with the Civil Aeronautics administration at the Medford airport in the com munications office. The Seeber gers left Medford about seven years ago. Arrested David E. DeLong, 35 of 227 Meade st., Ashland, has been arrested by Ashland city police on a charge of assault with a dangerous weapon, ac cording to records in the sher iff's office. DeLong has been lodged in the county jail. Photographer's Mate John W. Green is a Navy photogra pher's mate second class and is serving on the attack air craft carrier USS Yorktown, ac cording to a release from the Navy. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. R. S. Green, Rogue River. Library To Close The Med ford Public library will be clos ed at 6 p.m. Christmas eve, and remain closed through Christ mas day so that employees may be with their families for the holiday. The library will be open during the usual hours on Sun day. Items Taken Several items, including a portable sewing ma chine valued at $227.50, a tele vision set valued at about $70, and an automatic rifle, have been taken from the home of Dorothy M. Rutherford, 103 Gennessee st., according to re ports filed with city police. The items apparently were taken Dec. 15, the reports said. From Bend Mrs. Catherine Jay and her grandson, Terry Sanders, both of Bend, are visit ing here with Mrs. Jay's daugh ter, Mrs. Robert C. Wright, 20 North Orange st. The visitors plan to leave Christmas day for Bend. Terry is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Vic Sanders, son-in-law and daughter, of Mrs. Jay. All are former valley "residents. Their views were expressed in a joint statement issued at the end of a series of talks between the two heads of state. t The statement endorsed the idea of "peaceful co-existence" as the basic concept which "should govern international re lations." (U.R) Six persons, one of them a small child, were burned to death in the fiery headon collision of. a car and a heavy truck near here early today. The six victims were so badly burned they were not recogniz able and state police could not make idetnification immediate. The car in which they were riding was registered to Julius B. Strong, who gave his address as Big Spring, Tex. However, Big Spring police said Strong was an itinerant farm worker from Nogales, Ariz., who let Big Spring five months ago. They said he left Big Spring with his wife, his daughter, Ber tha Lee, and her boy friend, whose name was not immediate ly available.
