McCarthy has dam aged the Republican party, the Eisenhower administration, the Senate and much of the nation's press, Palmer Hoyt, editor of the Denver Post, said yesterday. . Sen. Guy Cordon told the Journal that the department had informed him that Portland had been considered as an airmail field, but the step was not justi fied at the present. Cordon was told that "exist ing organizations and' facilities" can adequately process .mails here, but if future developments make an air mail field necessary, it would be established. The Post Office Department also told the senator that, it would make every effort to re assign railway post office per sonnel displaced by the West Coast airlife of first class mail. Officers Led To Body, , Priest led some 50 officers on a 350-mile hunt Sunday night before the body of his niece was found.
