Bride's Home Is Scene of 'Recent Rites Miss Hazel May Craig and William D. Withrow were mar ried November 4 in 1 o'clock afternoon rites at the home of Hhe bride at 510 Alice street. The Rev. C. W. Frost of the 'Apostolic Faith church read the .ceremony. The bride was given in mar triage by her father, R. D. Craig (of Eureka, Calif. She wore a floor length gown with satin bodice and white nylon net skirt . trimmed with white lace daisies. Her veil was waist length and i was held from a beaded tiara. She carried a colonial type bou-. tquet of white carnations with pink rosebuds. .', Mrs. Edamae Adamson, ma- ron of honor, wore a floor length gown of pink satin with an over I skirt of net. Her flowers were - chartreuse spider chrysanthe mums, and her head band was of matching flowers. Paul Hanlin, Medford, was best man. Candlelighters were Ted and Allen Friesen, Grants ' Pass, ' nephews of the bride. Wedding music was furnished by Mrs. Caryl Correll, Eureka, a i sister, of the bride. Songs were sung by Mr. and Mrs. Albert . Friesen, Grants Pass. Mrs. Russell Cooper, Trail, . Mrs. Albert Friesen, and Mrs, Correll assisted at the reception , which was held after the cere mony. r About 50 relatives and friends . attended the wedding. Withrow : (Brainerd photo) Democrats Elect To Legislatures, Washington (U.R) The Democratic National committee announced Saturday that 97 Democratic women were elected to State Legislatures on Nov, 2 a new record for the party. Mrs. Katie Louchheim,, the committee's director of women's activities, said unofficial reports from 47 states showed 88 Dem ocratic women won seats in the lower houses and nine in the unner houses. Another 12 were elected to state-wide offices such as secretary of state, auditor, superintendent of schools, and the like. Nineteen are continu ing in unexpired terms. Canoniiianal Record Mrs. Louchheim pointed out that the nine Democratic women elected to the U. S. House of Representatives constitutes the Guild Announces Special Session St. Mark's Evening guild will meet Mondav. November 22, at 8 p.m. in the Parish house. This extra meeting has been called to make last Tjreoarations for trip bazaar to be held December 3. Eddy. : Billy Graham Arrives For Portland Services Portland (U.R) Evangelist Billy Graham arrived here Sat urday to conduct two . revival meetings over the weekend, one in Multnomah stadium and one at the civic auditorium. The ' first sermon was to be conducted last night at the audi torium and the outdoor meeting will be held today at 2:45 p.m. at the stadium. V. (Sarah Kiner) Hardy of Medford. Mrs. Mar jorie Hopkins gave the review which told the story of Mrs. Hardy's great aunt whoneft her family and other associations in Chicago to come west to the Columbia river country. Mrs. Hardy, a member, was present at the meeting. : Refreshments were served oy Mrs. Olen Armspiger; Mrs. J. A. Dinner and Dance Given by Groups; Haskelis Honored " About 60 persons attended a dinner and evening of dancing Saturday, November 13, for mpmhers of the Ladies Mounted troop and the Jackson County Mounted snerin s posse aim their husbands and wives. The event was held at the Tally Ho restaurant near Talent. ; Mrs. Mary H., Brown was rhairman for the event and Har old Hulse was toastmaster. Mrs. W. M. Lemmon and Mrs. Jonn Morris assisted her. The Thanksgiving theme was used for decorations and flowers in the fall shades were arranged on the dinner tables. During the evening Mr., and Mrs. S. M. Plans were completed at the last meeting of Alpha Rho chap ter, Beta Sigma Phi, for a pre ferential tea in honor of the new pledges of the chapter. The event will take place today at the home of Mrs. Paul Dix, 801 West Main street from 2 to 4 p. m. All, members are invited to attend. Mrs. Douglas spoke on how to grow , lillies from scales, during the recent meeting. She explain ed that first . a flat should be filled with damp sand, then the outer scales should be placed in individual sections, convex side down on the sand.
