Darold Jones performed the double ring cere mony at 7:30 o'clock in the eve ning. About 35 guests attended. The bride's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Frank E. Gidney, 848 Dakota avenue, and the bride groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Fred E. Inlow, 365 Charlotte Ann road. - ? Mrs. Frank . Gidney Jr Fern Valley, "a sister-in-law, was. ma tron of honor. The honor, attendant wore a pink net gown over taffeta. Mrs. C. R. Alexander furnished the wedding music. Roses were used to decorate the church. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lamb and Mrs. Frank Gidney gave a recep tion for the couple at the Lamb home at 1211 West 10th street. Mrs. Irvin De Wolfe, an aunt:of the bride, poured the coffee and Mrs. " Gene SigoUr served the cake, assisted by Mrs. Lamb. The bride is a senior at Med ford Senior High school, and the bridegroom is stationed at Bar stow, Calif., with the Marine corps. He is a private first class. He also attended Medford Senior High school. The couple made their wed ding trip .to Eugene and the bridegroom is returning to his station. She will join him there in February., ; Initiation Held In Rogue River ; Rogue River Rogue River Lions club and auxiliary held a joint session Monday night with 85 members and guests present The Lions initiated Howard Nor wood and Lewis Robinson. The auxiliary initiated 12 members and presented 22 members with 100 per cent awards. Mrs. Truman Drew, program chairman, presented The . Blend ettes quartet from Grants Pass whose members are Trudy Van derLaan, Viola Stanger, Jean Gierok, and Athleen Hotten. To Be Preceded By Organ Music Frank Stitt, field representa tive of the Baldwin Piano com pany will play an informal organ program at First Metho dist church preceding the Amer ican harvest dinner planned at the church, November 8. The dinner will be served at 6:30 p. m., but diners may come earlier if they wish to hear Mr. Stitt, who will play on a Bald win Orga-sonic organ in the Fire place room from 6 to 6:45 p. m. There will also be an exnibit of fine early American needle work and crafts. The event is the annual bene fit dinner sponsored by Ruth Esther Wesleyan Service guild, and tickets may be purchased through the church office or from any guild member. " . Returned Traveler To Speak for Guild A sewing session for members of St. Mark's auxiliary guild is slated for 10 a. m., Friday, No vember 12 at the parish house. M, Chandler, was honor ed with a bridal shower Novem ber Ik at the home of Mrs. Crit Carroll. Assisting the hostess were Mrs. Kenneth Vaughn, Mrs. Halver Haukli and Mrs. Mike Vognel. . . Party games were played by the guests before Miss Chandler opened her gifts. Refreshments were served from a decorated tea table, with Mrs. Steve Lar son and Mrs. u. unantuer presiding. Speakers Announced For Mineral Club Carroll Watson, Shady Cove, will be guest speaker at the monthly meeting of the Roxy Ann Gem and Mineral club Fri day, November 12. He and Tom Riley '' have recently returned from a trip to . southern Utah where they hunted for cycads, petrified wood and other rocks of interest. . ' The members will participate by bringing any rock which they wish to have identified. October 24 at First "Methodist church, Rose burg, are now living in Portland where the bridegroom is with Western Electric company. The bride is the former Arlene Helen Squier, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd M. Squier, Roseburg, and the bridegroom's ' parents are Mr. and Mrs. Paul Cowell, Foot hills' road, Medford. The Rev. E. M. Tilton offi ciated at the double-ring cere mony. Miss Donna Holm and Leroy Emmerson were soloists for the wedding and Mrs. William Benecke played the wedding marches. The bride wore a gown of white lace and net over satin and a headdress of lace trimmed with seed pearls held her nylon veil. She carried pink and white rosebuds. Miss Bonnie Holm was honor attendant and bridesmaids were Miss Marlene Emmitt. and Miss Shirley Judd. Their gowns were of green, rose and yellow in pastel shades and they carried pink and white carnations. Anna Mae Venza, flower girl, wore a blue net and taffeta dress .and carried pink and white carnations. Danny O'Mara was ring bearer. Ward McPherson was best man for the bridegroom and ushers were Delvin Squier, brother of the bride, and Robert Burns, Medford. The reception was at the Ump qua hotel, with about 100 guests attending. Assisting with the re ception were Mrs. Bud Holm, Miss Patricia O'Mara, Mrs. Leroy Emmerson, Miss Judy Hensley, Miss Lucy Osterman and Mrs. A. C. Hensley. . The bride's mother wore a brown knit dress with beige and avocado accessories. The bride groom s mother wore a light brown suit with dark brown ac cessories. Both wore corsages of yellow rosebuds. The bride is a graduate of Roseburg High school and the bridegroom graduated from Med ford High school. In addition to the bridegroom's parents, Medford guests at the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. John Williams and son, Kay. They visited at Las Vegas and Reno and then drove on to San Diego irom : where they visited briefly in Mexico. On the return trip , they visited at San Francisco. The bride formerly lived at Wishek, N. D., and Mr. Shaw is from Enderlin, N. D. " -M- ' ' Reconstructed Wood Now Being-Used for Making of Furniture ; Chicago U.R) , Furniture makers are using "reconstruct ted' wood . made from small chips and shavings for fancy furniture. .; ; ., The Chicago Market Daily, Furniture Mart, said improved machines ' and formulas have made it possible for the industry to offer the newly processed ma terials. "'. The-"reconstructed" wood Is being made into bedroom case goods, occasional tables, chests and even frames for upholstered furniture. . ' r .. ,. Sometimes the boards are used as they come from the machines with a stain, varnish or painted finish. Others are used as core stock for laminating with the firiest face veneers used on ex pensive furniture. Machines used in the process mix wood chips, shavings, and a limited amount of sawdust and wood flour with resins and a catalyst, press it into shape, or pour it out in one continuous board. One firm is making painted bedroom furniture . entirely of the material. Another hopes to develop better and .less expen sive upholstered furniture using the reconstructed wood for frames. Projects Planned By Crater Club; Course Announced Central Point Several pro jects are planned by Crater Gar den club members. One is a ba zaar to be held December 4 and plans for this and the other pro- j jects were discussed . during a meeting October 21 at the home of Mrs. Arthur Straus. ; . ' A workshop will be held in j December when the members will complete projects and work on Christmas decorations for Camp White. Mrs. Charles Meyer will be; hostess for this meeting. Plants, food and handiwork will be sold , at the bazaar. ; Mrs.' Henry DeVoss was co hostess for the recent meeting.
