Because daughter' Margaret, the pretty princess who keeps up with the latest song hits and Broadway musicals, told her . mother she must see "Pajama Game," a few thousand New Yorkers and a handful of tour ists today are impressing their ' friends with , stories of the queen mother at the theater. Women Attend Council Session In Washington - Mrs. A. T. Lathrap, Central Point. Mrs. M. C. Smith, Cor vnllis, and Mrs. E. E. Kllpatrlck, Salem, are representing Oregon at the National Home Demon stration council : meeting .. In Washington, ' D. C. October 21 , and continues to November 4. Parents Attend " Weekend Program At Willamette - ; Mr. and Mrs. Philip Bright and son Robert- were in Salem last weekend to attend Parents' weekend at Willamette univer sity. The Brights visited their older son, Lewis, a freshman who participated in Varsity Varieties, one of the weekend festivities. He is a pledge of Phi Delta Theta fraternity, and presi dent of the pledge class. The Brights saw the football game between junueia couege and Willamette as well as at tending other events scheduled for the weekend. They were din ner guests at the Phi Delta Theta house. Also attending the parents' program were Mr. and Mrs. I. A, Mirick, whose son, Keith, is a se'nior at Willamette. He is also a member of Phi Delta Theta. Another visitor was Mrs. Lloyd Shannon, Ruch, whose son Bill Shannon, is a sophomore at the school. Weekly Winners , Announced by Club. , Roy Prultt and B. L. Sander son topped players who attended the weekly session of Mcdford Duplicate Bridge club Tuesday, taking first place with 66 points. Howard Boyd and William B. Kennedy were second with 65, and Mrs., Sanderson and T. J. Fuson wero third with 62 points. Mrs. Ben Todd and Mrs. George B. Dean were fourth with 68 points. , Lutheran ChTrch -Plans Festival ' The annual harvest festival sponsored by the Ladles' Aid society of Zion Lutheran church Will be a Smorgasbord Novem ber 12. Serving will be from S to 7:30 p.m. and members of the congregation and friends are in vited. Tickets must be purchased by November 8, and will be available after services on Sun day. ' Big Game Hunters To Be Speakers For Medford Club Two big game hunters, Peter Ryhiner and his wife, Mercla, will be guests of Rogue River Valley Knife and Fork club on Monday, November 8 according to Dunbar Carpenter, president. Big-game hunting is nothing newt but the Ryhiner's hunting is different, since they never use guns. The two capture the animals alive, cage and trans port them across the oceans for the pleasure of the millions who visit zoos. Club are to make dinner reser vations with the secretary, Mrs. O. A. Eden, 211 Genessee street, no later than Saturday, Novem ber 6. Sorority Chapter . Plans Projects At Last Meeting ' Alpha Lambda chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha sorority held a regular meeting Monday at the home of Mrs. Chester Peterson, 2584 Bullock road.- The meeting was presided over by Mrs. Charles Jones, president, who discussed the coming year's projects, which Include a rum mage sale, baked foods sale, and for the annual Easter seal sale and the Lily day parade. Various projects of community service were mentioned and Mrs. Robert Barbee was appointed chairman of a committee to make a further study of such needs. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Peterson, " after which a general discussion was held on the subject of "holiday deli cacies," including recipes for fruit cakes and cookies. It was decided the sorority will hold a "get together" on November 4 at the home of Mrs. William Raymond, 728 Beekman avenue, for the purpose of baking fruit cakes for the holidays. Hostess for the next meeting, which will be held Monday, November 8,' will be Mrs. Fred Stammen, who will entertain at her home, 920 West eleventh street.
