It fitted fine, with a hole cut for the stem to : stick through. Many times a day he was asked, "What time is she by the snoose box, Lars?" If it was the 20th request Lars would still fork up the ticker, tell the hour and min utes, then add in a booming bass, "And so much nearer to etern ity!" . This fine old tafe turns up on page 13 of the splendid selec tion from the old Darius Kinsey logging pictures that has just been published by Superior Pub lishing Company, Seattle. The man who selected the views and wrote 'the text to go with them Is Ralph W. Andrews, a story teller born. So the copy is as delightful as the beautifully re produced photographs on 8x10 inch pages. Thumb-nail histories of log ging outfits and operations, bio graphical sketches of Darius and Tabitha Kinsey and of high-riggers and bullpunchers so the Andrew stories run and leap among the marvelous old photo graphs of big timber and brawny men. It is obviously a Job that Andrews has greatly enjoyed doing. And he transmits that joy to the fortunate reader. Tha Brave Bulls - But it is Kinsey's book, for this is what Ralph Andrews and AI Salisbury, master of engrav ing, wanted It to be. The bull team logging pictures alone are worth the $8.50 price of the book. No other photographer of the forests succeeded half so well in capturing the vitality of brave bulls and mighty men at work in the great, dark, dark forests of Douglas fir on the lowlands' of 1900 logging.
