' (Shangle-Landls photo) Troop Plans for Moonlight Ride Ladies Mounted troop mem bers planned a moonlight ride, set for September IB, during a meeting Tuesday evening at the club house at the Jackson County Mounted Sheriffs posse grounds. The ride will start from the Montana Emerson home in Grif fin creek area and riders are to meet at Griffin Creek grange at 7:30 p.m. After the ride is completed refreshments will be served at the Emersons. Mrs. L. M. The morning session will con sist of a business meeting, re ports of committee chairmen and workshops on membership, mag azine and publicity. Hise, 932 North Grapa street, and tha late Mr. Hise, Mr. and Mrs. Wayne R. Welty, 237 ceremony was performed at four First Methodist Church with the officiating. About 200 guests at tended. The church was decorated with baskets of large white chry santhemums and pom - pom mums. The aisle baskets were of pom-pom mums and white satin ribbons. At either side of the altar were candelabra with tap ers of white and baskets of mums. Nuptial music was played by Mrs. Jerry Sherman at the or gan. William Wilson sang. The bride, given In marriage by her uncle, Roy V. Hise, was attired In a gown fashioned of white nylon net over taffeta. The fitted bodice and the billowing double-tiered , skirt were both trimmed with a leaf embroidery. Her fingertip veil was held in place by a halo headdress of pleated nylon trimmed with seed pearls. She wore matching mitts and carried a cascade bouquet of white carnations and tiny white rosebuds centered with a white orchid. The matron of honor, Mrs. Raoul Maddox, Eugene, wore a ballerina length frock in maize net ' over taffeta of the same color, styled to match that of the bride. She wore matching halo headdress and mitts and carried a bouquet of dark. bronze pom pom mums. The other attendants were Miss Renae Seger and Mrs. Rob ert Rentchler, Medford, and Miss Kathleen Paulson, Portland They also wore matching gowns of green net over maize taffeta and green headdresses and mitts. Their bouquets were varying shades of yellow and bronze mums. William O. Walker of Medford attended Mr. Welty as best man, Seating the guests were Larry Larson. Stockton, Calif., Steven McCabe, and Robert Rentchler. Diane Taylor, wearing a frock of maize net over taffeta, was flower girl, and ringbearer was Vance Welty, brother of the bridegroom. Candlelighters were John Linton and Jeffery Heath- erington. The bride's mother chose a .suit of pink and gray worn with a pink feather cloche and puuc gloves with black accessories, Her corsage was of purple or chids. The bridegroom's mother was attired in a" charcoal grey dress with light grey hat and dark accessories. Hise, aunt of the bride. Mrs, William L. White, sister of the bride, and Mrs. Jack Bailey cut and served the cake. Mrs. Don ald L. Harper, sister of the bride, was in charge of the guest book. Out-of-town guests were Brent Cameron, Oregon City, Jim Grimm, Roseburg, Milo Grubb, Ashland, and Dan Horstkotte, McCloud, Calif., all fraternity brothers of the groom. The newlyweds will live at 1416 A street, Apt 0, Corvallis, where the bridegroom is attend ing Oregon "State college. Both were graduated from Medford High school and attended OSC where the bride is affiliated with Delta Gamma sorority. Mr. Welty is a member of Sigma Phi Epsi lon, social fraternity and numer ous scholastic and professional honoraries including Tau Beta Pi, Pi Tau Sigma, Pi Mu Alpha and Scabbard and Blade. Teacher Wed In June Rites Is Guest Here Mrs. Carl D. W. Hays, the former Lucille Hill, recently spent several days in Medford. Mrs. Hays, who taught Spanish and Latin in Medford Junior High school in recent years, was married to Mr. Hays, June 26 at Clovis, N.M. wmie nere Mrs. Hays was honored at a shower given by Miss Annette Gray at her home, 808 Dakota avenue. A group of the former teacher's friends were invited to the party, held In the afternoon, and she - was pre sented gifts for her new home. Also entertaining for Mrs, Hays were Mrs. Roy Martin, the former Lois Borland, and Mrs. Lester Throckmorton. Both gave dinners for the honored guest Mrs. Hays was accompanied to Medford by her sister. Miss Anna May Hill of Tulare, Calif. Mr. and Mrs. Hays are making their home at Columbus, N. M. Mrs. Hays is a daughter of Mrs. Charles Hill of Grandfield. Okla and is a graduate of the Univer sity of Oklahoma. Mr. Hays is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Perry M. Hays, Dorset O. He is a gradu ate of Ohio State university, Co lumbus, where' he has just com pleted residence requirements for a master's degree. He is now employed as immigrant inspec tor in the Immigration and Nat uralization Service of the United States Department of Justice. r Club To Honor Women Teachers Teachers will receive special recognition at the Christian Business and Professional Wom en's September dinner meeting Monday, September 14 at 6 p.m., at the Medford hotel banquet room. Reservations are to be phoned to Mrs. O. F. Marcum, 2-9347. Medford Woman Leaves for East Mrs. Robert B. Hammond, 600. Park street, will leave by plane today for San Francisco and Washington, D. C. From the latter city she will go to Lejeune, N. C, to spend several weeks with her son and daughter-in-law, Lt. Col. Bruce Hammond of the United States Marine corps, and Mrs. Hammond. The Ham monds have three children, Jamie, Robert Bruce and Evans. She was at one time of the staff of Ashland radio -station, KWIN. Mr. Reinhardt was costumer for the 1953 festival plays and was with the company the two previous seasons. He received his master's degree last spring from University of Texas.
