TBZBUsTB Tuesday, Angus! 23. 1S53 Riders To Make Week End Trip To Prospect Area Medf ord Trail Rider have planned an overnight ride Sat urday and Sunday, August 29-30, at Hamakera meadows, 10 miles above Union Creek. Those wishing to make the ride are asked to be at the mea dows by 12 noon Saturday and then ride into the camp from there. The meadows are one and one-half miles off the Diamond Lake highway and the road is good, those in charge of the ride state. The sign indicating the meadows is on the left side of the highway and can be plainly seen, it is stated. Supper will be served at 7 p.m. Saturday, and breakfast will be served Sunday morning. A sack lunch will be provided for Sunday noon. Each rider is asked to take hay for his horse. Further information may be obtained at Gibson's saddlery on Holly street Mr. and Mrs. John Mitchell and Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Bunker, Eagle Point, make up the com mittee on arrangements. lowan is Guest At Wilson Home Mrs. Clara Barclay of Sioux City, la., is spending a few weeks in Medford as a guest in the home of Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Wilson, and with Mr. and Mrs. C Norman Gail, Gold HilL While here Mrs. Barclay will also spend some time with Mrs. Orvill Elliott, formerly of the Klamath agency and now in a nursing home in Medford. The two women are long-time friends. Mrs. Barclay and the Wilsons attended the annual Jackson County 4-H fair last week. Group Attends Play in Ashland Miss Grace Margaret Webster, San Francisco, was a guest last week end of Miss Relen Web ster, 413 South Oakdale avenue. Miss Webster motored up with a group of friends to attend the production of "Coriolanus" Sat urday by the Oregon Shakes pearean festival company in Ashland. The visitors returned south Sunday. Thursday Club Phoenix Phoenix Thursday club will meet Thursday, Aug ust 27, at S p.m. in the home of Mrs. A. H. Macintosh. Assisting hostesses will be Mrs. R. B. Montgomery and Mrs. M. Bark ley. Dinner Party Medford Royal Neighbors met at the W. H. Arnold last Thurs day evening for a dinner. Fol lowing dinner, Mr. Arnold showed movies. About 40 attended. 4P omena Lively Oaks Club Changes Officers Mrs. Joe Hoey has resigned as president of Lively Oaks, since the famOr is leaving Medford to live in Portland. Mrs. Hoey re signed her office during a recent meeting at the home of Mrs- H. J. McCary, and Mrs. McCary win serve as d resident for the re mainder of the term. Mrs. John Ramos was elected vice-president to replace Mrs. McCary. The hostess prize was won by Mrs. Hoey. Live Oak Grange The HEC of Live Oak Grange of Rogue River met Thursday, Aug. 20, at the hall with 19 pres ent. Mrs. Howard Miller, acting HEC president, opened the meet ing. Vice president Mrs- Harold Dunham was elected president and Mrs. Lee Thornton was elected vice president It was decided to have the Harvest dinner Oct. 24 this to be a turkey dinner. The fall Bazaar will be held Dec. 5. On Tuesday night, Sept. 1, Mrs. Earl Brooks asked 10 couples to her home for progres sive cards. Proceeds to be turned to Grange. On Saturday night, Sept- 19, a pirate party will be held at Grange hall with the public in vited. - Fancy work was given out to be made for the Bazaar. Mrs. Thornton and Beth Potter worked on the curtains for the big hall. Mrs. Carl Christenson was reported ill.
