(International) Destruction Derby Tonight May Seem Like Mat Tiff Crashing and banging their wav around the Jackson County sneedwav tonight, the destruc tion derby drivers will bear a tronff resemblance to a team wrestling match. Instead of every man for him' elf it will be a team of four cars each from the Southern Oregon Hardtop Racing association of Medford and the Southern Ore gon Race club of Ashland. (U.B Bob Prall of Salem, Ore., was six strokes off the pace today as the International Jaycee golf tourn ament here entered its third round. Prall shot a 73 yesterday to go with a 78 the day before for two-day total of 151. The leader was Johnny Pott, York, Pa.; with a 145. Prall's 151 was good enough for a fifth-place tie. Hollywood Films Tops ' Francen, who shortly will ap pear on Broadway in "On Earth as In Heaven, says there are good movies made everywhere and that Hollywood heads the list. "The people who go crazy over French and Italian movies here ere simply impressed because the players speak a foreign language and look so natural It's an illusion. They can't under stand the actors anyway, so the mistakes go unnoticed.' French hits such as "The Bak er's Wife," "Grand Illusion" and "Beauty and the Beast" were ex cellent pictures, Francen ex plained, but actually no better than dozens of American films. Francen said Americans would be amazed to know which Holly wood stars are the most popular abroad- "Sophisticated movie fans in Paris were enchanted by Wallace Beery. And Beery was hardly considered a favorite of your smart set," he said. Natural Actor Frenchmen thought Beery was great because he was a natural actor. . "They thought he played like an animal," Francen ex plained. "You see, the French are so used to Intellectual things that when they see something of instinctive value, they consider it poetry." .
