Ellsworth Voted To Increase Debt Limit Portland U.R) Rep. Har- hls Ellsworth said today the last minute attempt to raise the legal limit of the national debt was "an academic exhibiion." Ellsworth, who arrived here last night from Washington, said he voted to raise the debt limit But, he added, he doesn't be lieve the administration would spend the . money just because it had the authority.
