New Employee Mr. John Fullenwider, 1018 Niantic street, began work at Pick's Apparel shop Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Full enwider moved to Medford re cently, and he is an employee of .the Lilenquist motor company. Dance Hall Application John and Janne Marshall, Compton, Calil., have petitioned the coun ty court for a license to hold dances at Take-It-Easy lodge, ac cording to county clerk's rec ords. The petition has 15 signers residing in school district No. 35. Appaloosa Horses An arti cle in the Tuesday Mail Tribune on an Appaloosa horse owned by Calvin W. Briley, Phoenix, was in error when it stated the horses are used for workhorses. Mrs. Briley points out that they are excellent stock horses and saddle horses and are powerful, but they are not used for field labor. Logging Accident Carl Webb of Brownsboro, was Injured by logs while loading a logging truck for the I. J. Andretta lum ber company Tuesday evening. He was taken to Community hos pital where attendants reported that his condition was "good." Plan Hayride The Junior High group of the YMCA is planning a hayride for Saturday, August 16. Those attending will leave the YMCA. at 7 p.m. and go to the Applegate river. Those who plan to go are to sign up at the YMCA desk. Returning Home Mrs. Wil son Wait and daughter, Mary Virginia Wait, '220 Vancouver avenue, will return home from Portland Friday. Miss Wait has been attending summer school for teachers in Portland, and Mrs. Wait has been visiting an aunt in Boise; Idaho, and joined her daughter recently. The firm will be concerned with real property development, according to coun ty clerk's records. San Diego Visitors Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Lee, 507 South HoUy street, are entertaining their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Walter M. Chase and daugh ter, Candace, San Diego, Calif. The Chases arrived in Medford Monday and plan to spend two weeks with the Lees. They will see the Shakespeare plays and take a trip to the coast. Jackson, USNR, son of Mr. and Mrs. Phil G. Jackson; Rogue River, is on an NROTC summer training cruise in European wa ters aboard the battleship USS New Jersey. A student at the University of Washington, Jack son and 730 midshipmen from 24 colleges and universities are getting training in navigation, gunnery, communications and tactics. - . Return Home Mr. and Mrs. S. P. Hutchinson left here Fri; day for their home at Dayton, Ohio, after several days visit with an aunt, Mrs. Jennie Hutch inson, 522 West 10th street. They also visited 'Mr. and Mrs. K. E. Hutchinron, 22 Keeneway drive while they were here. They vis ited Yellowstone park on the way to Medford and expected to see Crater lake on the return trip. From Pennsylvania Mr. and Mrs. John Garner, 2435 Lyman avenue, have as visitors at their home Mr. and Mrs. Sam Garner and daughter, Pamela, of Sax ton, Penn; Sam and John Garner are brothers and another broth er, Walter Garner and family, Barnett road, have also been spending some time with the visitors. The group had a picnic Tuesday evening at Lithia park, and the guests will remain here for about a week. Raltives Arrive Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Sutherlin, 1217 West 11th street, have as guests at thei home Mrs. Sutherlin s brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs'. Paul Palmour and cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Palmour, all of Gladewater, Tex. The visitors also will spend some time with Mr. and Mrs. D. L. Russell, 1139 West Main street. The four fam ilies will travel to Crater Lake and other points of interest in southern Oregon. Surgery Patient Six-year-old Teresa Pruett, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Pruett, Eagle Point, was a surgery patient at Community hospital today, at tendants reported. Bicycle Missing Kenneth Van Ausdall, 338 Fairmount street, told police his bicycle was stolen Tuesday from in front of the YMCA headquarters, 522 West Sixth street. Hand Injured Edwin Olsen, 66 Clover lane, received a hand injury while on the job at White City lumber company this morn ing. He was treated and released from Community hospital, at tendants reported. Grass Fire Firemen were called to put out a grass fire at 8:50 a.m. today at a vaeant lot at 1024 Summit avenue. The fire was started in a covered trash barrel and extended to the grass around it, the fire department reported. Arm Hurt Louie Baker, Eagle Point, was treated at Com munity hospital for an arm in jury received this morning while on the job at Columbia Utilities company. A piece of steel had become imbedded in his arm, attendants reported. Marine Returns Lt. W. E. Wutfhinsnn former Medford Resident now serving in the United States Marine Corps, has returned to this country after having suffered arm and leg wounds while serving in Korea. Lieutenant Hutchinson, a son of Mrs. W. J. Hutchinson now of Boise, Ida., was met in San Francisco- by his mother, his wife and their three weeks old son.
