Buckingham Sr., 27 Lincoln street. In a setting of pink and white gladiolus, ferns, and palms, the bride was given in marriage by her father. She wore a gown of nylon net and tulle over white taffeta with a medium train and headdress of seed pearls. Her flowers were white and pink carnations. Maid of honor for the cere mony was Miss Anita Shaw who was attired in a blue nylon net and taffeta dress. Bridesmaids were Miss Marilyn Payne, Miss Diane Findley, Miss Carol Clark, and Miss Betty Buckingham, sis ter of th; bridegroom. They wore dresses of nylon net over taffeta in various colors and carried matching ester reed daisies. Miss Payne's dress was of pink. Miss Findley's of green, Miss Clark's of yellow, and Miss Bucking ham's of lavender. Don Hanlin was best man and ushers were Mike Hogan, Frank Morris, Gerald Garris, brother of the bride, and Hal Faulkner. Flower girls, Joanne and Linda Rush were dressed in pink and blue taffeta. Candle lighters were Miss Jackie Clark and Miss Dar lene Babb. Music was furnished by Miss Francis Troxell " who sang two solos. About 200 attended the wed ding and reception held at the church following the ceremony. Mrs. Delbert Dittemore and Mrs. Bernard Mihaus ' served the wedding cake and Mrs. Rex Demo poured. Miss Carolyn Shangle had charge of the guest book and Miss Troxell attended the gifts. The couple are now at home at 16 Tripp street, Medford, after wedding trip to San Francisco. Mr. Buckingham Jr. is with Standard Station Inc. and the bride is employed by the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph com pany. Both attended . Medford High school. Out of town guests attending the reception were Mr. and Mrs. C. Whittaker and son Ted, grandparents and uncle of the bridegroom, Garfield, Utah; Mr. and, Mrs. Howard Whittaker and daughter Gayle, aunt, uncle and cousin of the bridegroom, Mag na, Utah; and Mr. and Mrs. Clin ton Garris, uncle and aunt of the bride, Grants Pass, Ore. i Picnic ' About 30 members of the La dies' Mounted troop and Jack son county jviountea aneruis posse and families met Wednes day evening at the home of Mrs. C. M. Bismark, 202 Oak wood drive. A potluck picnic dinner was served at lawn tables. Circle 9 to Meet Monday Evening Circle 9 of the First Christian church will meet Monday, Au gust 4 at 8 p.m. in the home of Mrs. Eloise Winklebeck, 940 Whitman street. Mr. and Mrs. William Henry Buckingham Jr.. are living at 16 Tripp street, following their wiiding July 25 at the First Pres byterian church. (Brainerd photo) Plans Now Being Made for Christmas Seal Sale Drive Plans already are being made by the Jackson County Health association board for Christmas seal sales. A group of the board members met last Monday with Miss Jean Le Neve, state chair man for the Tuberculosis seal sale. This was a luncheon meet ing. A discussion of the 1952 drive was held at the home of Mrs. Allan Perry, Jackson county seal sale chairman. Sister Visits Mrs. Ruth Oredson, Minne apolis, Minn., is visiting Mr. and Mrs. Ed Paschke, 892 Stewart avenue. She is Mrs. Paschke's sister and will remain here until about August 18Then Mrs. Oredson, accompanied by Mrs. Paschke and family will leave for Fern dale, Wash., to attend the wed ding of their niece. Pi Phi Dessert The Pi Beta Phi alumnae will hold a dessert at 7:30 p.m. Thurs day, July 7, at the Floyd Hart ranch, Grant road. Hostesses for the evening will be Mrs. I. E. Staples and Mrs. Jean Hart. Any active or alum nae members who have not been contacted about the meeting are to call Mrs. Hart at 2-8992. Braleys Travel East To Warner Family Home Noted Journalist There Mr. and Mrs. C. Rease Braley, 245 Valley View drive, Medford, will leave by air Monday for s family reunion at Seneca Lake. N.Y. They will stay at the old sum mer home of Mrs. Braley's fam ily, the Warners. Her 92-year-old father, Edwin G. Warner, New York City, will be there as will her brother, Albert Warner, a political jornalist who is pres ently with NBC's Three Star Extra program. - Albert Warner is the author of the article in this week's Sat urday Evening Post, "Our Se cret Deal Over Germany. Through his research he has brought out in his article what he has learned from key diplo mats and military men about the formation of the occupation boundaries in Germany. The two main documents relating to the negotiations of the zones of occupation are still ruled secret. so Warner has investigated the situation and come out with sev eral conclusions. He is convinced that much of the blame for the present trou ble in Berlin should go to Presi dent F. D. Roosevelt, and tells that his findings show General Eisenhower blameless. He said that Winston Churchill made many mistakes in the negotia tions. They scored 147 points. The players were Mrs. George Codding and Mrs. B. L. Sanderson; Mrs. Paul Hat ton and T. J. Fuson; Paul Hatton and Roy Pruitt. In second place were Mr. and Mrs. George Rode with 146, one point less than the three-way tie. Mrs. Paul McDuffie and Mrs. Josephine Clark, scored 142 and Mrs. E. Miller and Mrs. Frank Baker, 138Vi. Roxy Ann Gem and Mineral Club To Plan Convention Trip Roxy Ann Gem and Mineral club members Friday evening will discuss a trip to Caldwell, Ida., where the northwest federa tion convention of gem and min eral club members will be held August 23, 24 and 25. The meeting will be at the Girls Community club at 7:30 p.m. Tom Riley, federation director, plans to attend the convention and Orvel Dawson was selected at a recent meeting as a dele gate. Delmar Smith is alternate. Anyone interested is invited to the Friday evening meeting. Kansas Picnic Plans are being completed by former Kansans for a picnic Sunday, August 10 at 1 o'clock at the south end of Lithia park, Ashland. All former residents of the state and their families are invited. Those attending should take their picnic lunches and service. 4 Special Meet Central Point A special meeting at 2 p.m., Tuesday, August 5 is scheduled for mem bers of the Central Point Wom en's Relief corps. The regular meeting place will be used, of ficers stated. The business of the meeting will pertain to prepara tion for an inspection of the corps in September by their De partment president. t Beta Sigma Phi Group Swim. Picnic Xi Mu chapter of the Beta Sigma Phi members and invited guests met for a swim party and picnic Tuesday on the Applegate river. Mrs. Wilson Slater was in charge of the arrangements. USWV Groups Picnic, Hear Convention Reports By La Grande Delegates Members of the Cebu swamp, auxiliary of the Colonel Sargent camp, United Spanish War Vet erans, held a picnic yesterday in Grants Pass park with their families and friends. A report of a grand convocation held re cently in La Grande was made. Last Sunday 46 members of the Rogue River and Colonel Sargent camps and auxiliaries met for an annual picnic at Lithia park. Mrs. Don Anderson, depart ment historian, and Mrs. Harry Barneburg, past department president, spoke on the La Grande convention. Mrs. Wayne Keesee, a delegate to the con vention, was unable to attend to give her report. , Attending the picnic were O. Palmerton and Mrs. Palmerton, Rogue River. Mr. Palmerton was critically injured May 30 in an automobile accident. Guests included Ma, and Mrs. Albert Franks, Medford, and Ernest Cotter of Grants Pass. Mrs. Sallie Cotter, Grants Pass, invited the members to at tend a lawn party July 30 at her home. Mr. and Mrs. Harry W. Barneburg and Mr. and Mrs. Don. Anderson, Medford, at tended the party. Delegates Leave Two Medford couples and an Ashland couple left this week end for Los Angeles to attend as delegates, sessions of a national convention of the Veterans of Foreign Wars to be held next week.
