It was later reported he would support General Eisen hower for the nomination. Oregon Delegates Stay With Kefauver Up To Conscience Salem OJ.R) Attorney Gen eral George Neuner said Mon day that the length of time an Oregon delegate to the Demo cratic national convention stays with the voters choice for presi dent is a matter between the delegate and his conscience. Neuner replied to the query of a member of the1 Oregon delega tion now in Chicago, pointing out that the pledge taken by the delegates binds them only to "put forth their best efforts" to nominate the candidate favored by Democratic voters in the state's primary election. Just when his "best efforts" are exhausted, Neuner said, is a matter for the idividual candi date to decide. He said, however, he didn't think the requirement would be satisfied "by merely casting his first vote." The Oregon delegation is pledged to Sen. Estes Kefa, uver of Tennessee.
