Shady Cove-Trail News .. Shady Cove - Trail Bonnie and Sidney Owens of Vallejo, Calif., grand-children of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Owens of Shady Cove have been visiting their grandparents. Other guests of the Owens have been Hugh Whipple of Yreka, Calif., and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mattson of Brookings, Ore. Mr. and Mrs. Don Arnold and family from Chico, Calif., were reported through an error of the correspondent as being new comers to .Shady Cove. Instead they are newcomers to Trail, living in the old Wehde resi dence next to the Walt Mess ecars. Other newcomers to Trail are Mr. and Mrs. N. D. Fair banks and" family from Lewis ton, Ida., who are living at Sun set on the Rogue. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Sullivan of Monterey Park, Calif., are visiting Mrs. Suli van's daughter and family, Mr. and Mrs. Rus sell Harris of Shady Cove. Frank Fagalde of Shady Cove has been given the dealership for the Ashley automatic wood burning heater. Mr. and Mrs. Hugo W. Lang of Portland have been visiting his brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Louie Lang who bought ' the Darling residence in Shady Cove last year, coming here from Brownsboro.. Mr. and Mrs. D. W. Jessup and three children of Seattle, are visiting Mrs. Jessup's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Greenley of Shady Cove for their vaca tion. Jessup is on the police force in Seattle attached to the juvenile crime prevention de partment. Donna Neilson of Palo Alto, Calif, is visiting her cousin, Judy Taylor, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Taylor at the Flounce Rock Ranch, Trail. Mr. and Mrs. William McMil lan and son from Lodi,' Calif., have been guests of Mr. and Mrs. Claude Close of Trail. Oth er guests visiting the Close's have been Mrs. Close's sister and huband, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Haxton of Richland, Wash. Mildred's Cafe, next to the Shady Cove cleaners in Shady Cove will be closed every Sun day and open on Wednesdays, Mrs. Carl Dawson of Trail has been vacationing in Chiloquin. Miss Nancy Bosley of Port land is visiting her cousin and family, Mr. and Mrs. George Brewer of Shady Cove and ex pects to be with them for about two weeks. Lt. and Mrs. Dave Pruess and daughter, Sheri of Yuma, Ariz., spent several days last week vis iting her parents,. Mr. and Mrs Roy Long of Shady Cove. Pruess has just been released from the Air Corps. Mrs. Wilbur Blackman left last week-end to bring her daughter, Nancy Blackman back from the1 Shriner's hospital in Portland where she has been undergoing treatment. Lt. and Mrs. Bob Davis, and son, Kenny of Mountain View, Calif., have been visiting Lt. Davis' parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Davis of River Edge, TraiL Mrs. John Stille . of Shady Cove spent several days visit ing her mother, Mrs. Emma Mer ritt of Central Point. Mr. and Mrs. C. J. Conard of Santa Rosa, Calif., have been visiting their daughter and fam ily, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Laird of the River road, Shady Cove. Mrs. Bill Wilson and children are vacationing in banta Kosa, Calif., where they are visiting with her parents. Russell Graham of Shady Cove went with Johnny Jones in his plane early Saturday to Burns, Oregon, where Russell had left his car due to motor trouble on his way home from taking the boys to Utah. He was unable to get the car repaired that day and drove it home. Mrs. Robert Holcomb of Shady Cove has written the words to a new Jacksonville Jubilee song. Vic Flood of Ashland wrote the music. The song was introduced for the first time on July 19, on the Dr. Pepper radio show. A thousand records are being made by RCA Victor and those who wish to may purchase them from the Jacksonville Lions club. Mrs. Mildred Frisbie of Mil dred's Cafe, Shady Cove, made a trip to Springfield recently to see her son, Douglas. Sen. Russell Not About To Kiss Kissing Kin Chicago (U.R) Sen. Rich ard B. Russell figures he and actress may be kissing kin, but he isn t about to put this to the test. "She's married to a mighty big guy," the bachelor Georgia senator told photographers who wanted a demonstration. "I've seen him play football." This two part epic, "Actors and S i n," was written, direc ted and pro- Aline Mosby duced by famed writer Ben Hecht. . One episode, "Woman of Sin," is a comedy about a "Forever Am-ber"-type movie that turns out to have been written by a nine-year-old girl. The manager of the high-tone Beverly Canon theater, which caters to cinema celebrities, took one look at the movie and can celled it. The ads for the boudoir mov ie that the nine-year-old child writes say, "A motion picture that reaches to the heights of wisdom . . . and tangant pas sions.' The moppet's mother complains that her little darling has been turning out these mov ie scripts since the age of three. Ridicules Industry The theater manager said he banned "Actors and Sin" be cause "it lampoons Hollywood and ridicules the industry." "The movie business is in enough trouble, without our adding to it by showing a pic ture that ridicules film-making," said Horace Boos. In "Actors and Sin," the child prodigy's agent. Eddie Albert works in an office filled with Hollywood-style Italian antiques and a bosomy, deadpan secre tary, whom he regularly kisses with passion. He calls producers "Fatheads" behind their backs but smiles suavely when he talks to them on the telephone. Actors and writers he won t even speak to. The little girl is played by Hecht's own daughter, Jenny. "We shot the movie in eight i days," explained co-producer I Kuller. "We had fun making it j and we didn't intend to offend 1 Hollywood.
