Roberts gave first and second degrees to Roland Pech, Arthur Pech, Wayne Mar shall and Robert Nelson. Jack Pech was voted to become a member of the Grange. George B. Brown announced that Murray Bartling has accept ed the fire insurance agency for the Grange. Melvin Johnston, ways and means committee chairman, an nounced that he will not be able to be in charge of the recreation parties during the summer. Mur ray Bartling and Larry Perry are on the same committee. The date for the Grange picnic will be discussed at the next meeting, August 14, also time for cleaning the Grange grounds. Roscoe Roberts, county deputy, gave a resume of the recent State Grange meeting. Jackson county was voted to be host to the 1953 State Grange session. The city has not yet been select ed. George B. Brown presented the lecture hour. A pie eating contest between David Woolfolk and Wayne Marshall was won by the latter; Lucille Cave, Bessie Arens, and Eva Hoefft sang; Alma Meyer talked on "hob bies," and displayed a portion of her button collection; nine young folk sang; Eunice, Roland, and Arthur Pech played their accordions; George and. Mabel Brown presented a play; George Brown gave a reading and Mabel Brown sang. Roscoe Roberts awarded the pennant to the secretary, Ellyn Charley, for the second year for collecting all dues for the year before the end of March. 4-H Club News Eagle Point Dairy Club Eagle Point Dairy club held its last meeting July 11 at Cliff Moore's.
