With Regiment Capt. Galen C. Morey, husband of Mrs. Mar jorie Morey, Route 1, Rogue River, is serving in Korea as adjutant of the 17th Infantry regiment of the 7th division, ac cording to an Army news re lease. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. E. Collins, reside at 614 In diana street, Ashland. a Doctor Moves Office Dr. A. A. Griffin, Jacksonville, recent ly moved his office, which was at his home, to a building at 102 North California street, Jack sonville, next to the Beakman Bank. He is leasing the build ing from Peter Schafer, and is now having it painted and parti tions put in. Dr. Gnffm said he was seeing patients as usual while the Improvements were being made on the building. The building has been used as a res taurant, office, and was one of the first drug stores in the West. Mayor Peter Mandich said thousands of striking steel workers who have been home for six weeks are spending much of their time cleaning out basements and allies. WILLIAM LENTZ- William H. Lentz, 49, of 105 North Oakdale avenue, died at a local hospital early Tuesday following a brief illness. Mr. Lentz was born in Arkansas on Nov. 19, 1902, and had lived in Medford for one year. He was district manager for the Bene ficial Standard Life Insurance company. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Betty A. Ijentz, Medford; one brother, Lewis M., Los An geles; two sisters, Mrs. Elma Flaig, Toledo, Ohio, and Mrs. Lola Johnson of St Clair Shores, Mich. Funeral services will be con ducted from the Perl Funeral home Thursday at 2 p. m. with the Rev. W. A. Dawes, pastor of the First Baptist church, of ficiating. Interment will take place in Siskiyou Memorial park. Wednesday, July 16, 1952 MEDFORD (OREGON) MAIL -TRIBUNE ELEVEN Medford Women Hurt In Auto Accident Mrs. Jean Gemaehlich, 15, 600 Benson street, was released aft er a checkup at Community hos pital following a two - car col lision Tuesday afternoon at Prune and Benson streets when the car in which she was riding turned over, according to hospit al attendants. The car in which she was rid ing was driven by Eugene Gem aehlich, 18, of the same address and he was issued a citation for failure to yield right of way, according to police. Martin E. Martinson, 521 Union street, was the driver of the other veh icle and was issued two cita tions, one for violation of the basic rule and the other for no operator's license, police report ed. Serious damage was done to both cars, police said, and Perl ambulance took Mrs. Gemaeh lich to the hospital. G. E. Dunn Chairman Of Ashland District Ashland G. Edwin Dunn was installed Monday as chair man of the school board for District 5, during a board meet ing. Ben. T;, Lombard is the new vice-chairman and Irene E, Roach will continue as clerk for the district. The board decided to open school September 10, eight days after the teachers first report. Superintendent Leland P. Linn announced the staff is practic ally complete. A two - week Chirstmas vac ation and a one week spring vacation were scheduled by the board, school will be out June $4,000,000 Park Lodge Destroyed by Blaze Jasper, Aita. WJ.Rl A flash fire levelled the ritzy $4,000,000 Jasper Park Lodge in the Rocky Mountains early Wednesday. Hundreds of volunteers work ing in bucket brigades fought the flames roaring through the ram bling one-story wooden lodge which was a show-place of West em Canada and claimed to be the biggest resort of its kind in the world. Two-hundred guests escaped safely. Most of them had been dancing in the main ballroom. Ruth Kilbourn New Footlighters Head Ruth Kilbourn was elected president of the Medford Foot- lighters at a reorganization meeting held at the group's fair ground theater last night. She succeeds Frank Buchter. Around 40 attended the meeting. Elected to the board of di rectors, in addition to Miss Kil bourn were Norris K. Porter, Colonel Joseph C. Burns, Mrs Stan Zapell. Robert Corliss. Dick Kline, Bernie Roberts and Mrs. Paul Bulkin. Election of additional officers as provided by the Footlighters by-laws, will take place at the first meeting of the new board of directors to be held later this month. Mrs. C. Ivan Burton, Dick Kline and Robert Corliss were appointed directors in charge of olio acts which will be presented in connection with the Footlight ers' summer melodrama. "Only An Orphan Girl." LOOKOUTS OPERATING Verus Dahlin, Forest Service fire control officer, reported Wednesday that all lookout sta tions in the Rogue Valley area are now in operation, except the Pelican Butte and Devil's Peak lookouts. Dahlin said that heavy snow drifts surrounded these two lookouts, but that workers were manning the one at Pelican Butte this week by packing in provisions two miles. Kent was returned Tuesday from Roseburg by sheriff's dep uties and is being held on a warrant charging larceny of a house trailer from Jacksonville, which occurred about two months ago.
