Holds Old-Fashioned Picnic

Pen-ink Drawing
Is Month's Picture
The picture of the month of
the Southern Oregon society of
Artists, now on display in Bar
ker's window, was done by Mrs.
Arlene J. Fitzgerald, Ashland,
a member of the society.
In addition to this pen and ink
drawing, Mrs. Fitzgerald has
done paintings of people, flow
ers and animals. The picture of
the month is of horses heads, and
her lines are bold and clear cut,
giving her work dynamic style.
Mrs. Fitzgerald is an a'ctive
member of Southern Oregon So
ciety of Artists, serving as sec
retary for the organization. She
is married and the mother of two
daughters and a son.
She will also be showing her
pictures in the forthcoming
Greenwich Village Art show to
be held in the old Medford City
park, from 1 to 5 o'clock, July
13.

New look for bare bulb din
ing room fixtures. Those five-
light fixtures with the upturned
sockets will give more comfort
able lighting if you use 60-watt
white bulbs and small silk or
plastic shades with about a four
or five-inch bottom diameter.
Have trouble keeping shades
straight on floor and table
lamps? Then try using tiny rub
ber anchor cushions to hold
shade firmly in place on reflect
