Actor Bill Ball
To Dance, Direct
In Festival Plays
Ashland The performance
by a dancing drama student in
the 1952 festival may well prove
to be one of the entertainment
highlights of the event which
is to open in Ashland's Eliza
bethan like theater on August 1.
Bill Ball, a young drama stu
dent from Carnegie Tech in

audiences last year with his
dancing performance on the fes
tival ; stage railing in "Twelfth

But festival directors, wishing
to fully utilize the actor's terp
sichorean ability, has made him
dance director for two of the
plays and for a group, which will
do. pre-shbw performances as a
part of the "Tudor Fair."
This fair, which originally was
called the "Mop Fair," is to be
presented again this year under
the direction of the festival aux
iliary group, the Tudor Guild.
The fiur will add color to the
unique festival with souvenir
and refreshment booths inside
the walls of the ampitheatre in
which the festival is presented.
The pre-show dancers will
number eight and will entertain
festival audiences with pre-cur-tain
performances.
Also lending a background to
the festival will be madrigal
singers and instrumentalists, per
forming under the direction of
Hans Lampl, a University of
Southern California music pro
fessor, who is a student of Eliz
abethan music.
The festival will open in Ash
land August 1 and run through
