S- Air Fore, who is in command of Moody Air Force base at Valdosu. Ga . visited three days last week at the borne of his parents. Mr. and Mr. J. G. Kofahl. North 89 high way. He was accompanied by Capt. F. C. O'Bannon, also of Moody AFB. It was the first visit Colonel Kofahl had made to his parents' home in three years, and Captain O Barman's first tr:p to the Pa cific Northwest- The two men arrived at Medford Ust Monday by place from Georgia. Groves and family will be honored at a farewell reception Thursday. June 24. Tne recep tion is set for 8 30 p m. in the parlors of the First Methodist church and will follow the regu lar mid-week prayer meeting service of the church. All members and friends of the church are invited to attend The Groves family has lived in Medford for the past five years while the Rev. Mr. Groves has been pastor of the church. He has now been assigned to the Roseburg Methodist church and the family will leave soon for that city. Tne Rev. H. W. Harshman of Ellensburg. Wash., will arrive soon to become pastor of the church here. Westminster Guild Members Entertained By Methodist Women Guests of Wesieyan Service guild at the June 17 meeting at First Methodist church were members of Westminster gu'ld of Presbyterian church. With Mrs. L. R. Adamson pre siding, devotions and the annual pledge service were given by Mrs- Rex Note and Mrs. L. A. White. The theme was "My Fathers World,'' and members of the Wesieyan Guild made their pledges to foreign mis.sior.s- The program for the evening included a trio by Mrs. J. C. Kaylor, Mrs. Jack Harris and Mrs. L. R. Adamson. who sang " Serenade'' by SigT.ttrid Rom berg. Mrs. Marjone Hopkins spoke on -The Work of Youth in Our Community." She made references to the survey recently completed to determine if a de tention home was needed m Jackson and Josephine counties, and said she believed that there was a need for this type of home.
