TWO MEDFORD (OREGON) Church Rites Wed Miss Neathamer, Richard Pervorse An event of June 7 at First ' Methodist church here was the wedding of Miss Norma Jean Neathamer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. N. D. Neathamer, 119 Jea nette street, to Richard E. Per vorse of Tarzana, Calif. The bridegroom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Al Pervorse, Los Angeles. The Rev. Meredith A. Groves officiated at the double-ring cer emony, and the reception which followed was in the church. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of white net over white satin de signed ballerina length. Her shoulder-length veil was held by a tiara of orange blossoms and she carried a colonial bou quet of pink and white rose buds. Miss Gloria Dunagan was maid-of-honor. Her frock was peach colored net, ballerina length, and she carried a colon ial bouquet of white rosebuds. Miss Dixie Neathamer, sister of the bride, and Miss Carole John son were bridesmaids. They also wore ballerina frocks, Miss Neathamer's gown being pinl net and Miss John son's lavender, and both car ried colonial bouquets of white rosebuds. Roy Deutchman was best man for the bridegroom, and ushers were Robert Dunagan, Coming, Calif., and Charles Hoyt. Miss Donna Mack sang for the ceremony, read in a setting of pink and white gladiolus ar ranged in tall baskets. Pouring for the reception were the bride's aunts, Mrs. Paul Burton and Mrs. Wayne White, Tacoma. The cake was cut by another aunt, Mrs. Ernie . Evans, Ashland, and Mrs. Mar Ian Sander, Mrs. J. P. Graham, Mrs. Christine Rose and Mrs. Bernard Rice served. Miss Claire Pratt took charge of the guest book. The bride's mother wore a cor al colored suit with white acces sories and a white carnation cor sage. Mrs. Pervorse wore black and white print frock with white carnation corsage. Also in Medford for the wed ding were' Miss Bobble Under wood, Corning; Wayne White and the White's two sons, Ta coma; Donna Mae Burton, Ta coma; and the bride's grandpar ents, Mr. and Mrs. C. G. Neat hamer, Grants Pass. The newly weds motored north for a wedding trip and will live 1n Los Angeles where the bridegroom is employed by the Douglas Aircraft corpora tion. Both are graduates of Med ford high schooL ' Lions, Auxiliary Plan Installation Members of Medford Lions' club and their wives are in vited to an installation party honoring the Incoming officers at 7 p.m. June 25 at the Ash land Elks club. An informal dinner and in stallation ceremony are planned, after which there will be danc ing. (Shangle photo) Family Reunion Held Last Sunday A family reunion was held Father's day at the home of W. R. Bullock and Mrs. Karl Knut son, his daughter,' 615 Columbus avenue, Medford. Sgt. Rose V. Frost, WAC from Walter Reed Army Medical cen ter. Washington D.C. was pres ent. The sergeant, a sister of Mrs. Knutson, served for 30 months in Tokyo, Japan as a secretary in the 49th General hospital there. In 1950 she went to Bremerhaven, Germany for a year, and while there she tour ed Europe. After that Sergeant Frost returned to the United States to take her present posi tlon as a secretary in the Walter Reed center. . Others present at the reunion were Mrs. Knutson's brother, Ralph D. Bullock and wife, and her sister, Loveda McGrew, of Oakland, California. Sergeant Frost's twin sister, Mrs. Ruth Forgey, Vancouver, Wash., was unable to be present. NOMA Dinner National Office Management association will hold a dinner meeting Monday, June 23, at 6:30 p.m. in the Medford hotel. Reports on the international con vention, held in San Francisco in May, will be given. California Artist Visits in Medford Among the city's visitors at present is Mrs. Geraldine Dun can, who is a guest of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Perry Duncan, South Barneburg road. Mrs. Duncan, an artist and portrait painter, is known by her professional name of Geraldine Birch. ,An Englishwoman, Mrs. Duncan has lived in California for the past 30 years and has done many portraits of well known Californians. One of her recent portraits was of Wendcl Fletcher, of Fletcher Aircraft corporation, and the artist has now been com missioned to do a number of murals for the new factory which the corporation is build ing. Miss Bette Ridejely Named New President Nu Phi Mu Sorority Miss Virginia Larson was hostess to members of Nu Phi Mu sorority when the group held a business meeting Monday at the home of Mrs. S. D. Earhart on West Main street. Elections of officers for the coming year was held. Named to office were Miss Betlc Ridge ly, president; Miss Pat Merri man, vice-president; Miss Jnnct Walton, treasurer; Mrs. Robert Phillips, recording secretary; Miss Kay Carrara, correspond ing secretary. Retoring officers are presi dent, Miss Mary Ellen Smith; vice-president. Miss Irma Bos lock; treasurer, Mrs. Donald Lue; recording secretary, Mrs. Harold Skinner; corresponding secretary, Mrs. Paul Parson and fargeont at arms, Miss Ridgcly. Installation of the new offic ers will be held July 7 at the home of Miss Jacqueline Walk er, Fern Valley. Plans were made for a picnic and swimming party for soror ity members and guests Jul 26. Refreshments were served by Miss Larson and Mrs. Earhart. Couple Leaves Mr. and Mrs. T. M. Garhart, Medford, have been entertaining Mrs. Garhart's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold B. Meloth, Los An geles. Calif., this week. The couple left Saturday to return to their home. Mr. and Mrs. Gar- hart drove up with their guests, after a two week vacation to Los Angeles. Rogers, Agent Miss Drummond, Ensign Riegelman Married in East Announcements have been re ceived in Medford of the wed ding of Miss Elizabeth Jeanne Drummond, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Clarence I. Drummond, Ross lane, to Herbert Alan Rieg elman, ensign in the United States Naval reserve. Ensign Riegelman is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Riegelman of Shorthill, N. J. The rites took place June 11 in the Episcopal church at Bur lington, Vt. . After a week at Grand Isle, Vt., Ensign and Mrs. Riegelman left for San Francisco where the officer will report for duty July 5 with the navy. Mrs. Riegelman will continue to Medford to visit her family here. Mrs, Riegelman was graduat ed June 9 from Wcllesley col lege, and her husband was grad uated from Dartmouth college June 8, having been given his commission at that time. Mrs. Drummond was in the east for the graduation ceremonies and the wedding. Recent Rites Wed Miss Jeanne Lilly, Robert Ray Talbott A ceremony performed in the parlor of First Methodist church, Medford, by the Rev Meredith A. Grcvts, wedded Miss Jeanne Lorene Lilly, daughter of Mr. nd Mrs. Don nel G. Lilly, Lake Creek, and Robert Tlaf Talbott, son of Mr. and Mrs. Buller R. Talbott, Tal ent. The evening ceremony took place May 30. . The bride was dressed in a lavender suit with white acces sories and wore a corsage of pink rose buds. Her matron-of-honot Miss Charmayne Charley, Brownsboro, Oregon, wore a navy blue suit with pink and navy blue accessories, and flow ers similar to the bride's. Gordon Talbott, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. Those serving at the reception, held at the Gordon Talbott home, were JVIrs. Ozie Burrell, Mrs. Mona Talbott, mother of the bridegroom, and Mrs. Leona Talbott, the bridegroom's sister-in-law. Garden flowers decorat ed the Talbott home for the re ception. The newlyweds went to Cres cent City and up the Oregon coast for their wedding trip. Toketee Falls is to be their new home. The bride graduated from Eagle Point high school this year. The bridegroom attended Ashland high school, and was recently discharged after serv ing four years in the Navy. Californians Here To Fish in Rogue Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Nolan and Dr. and Mrs, Harold Wahlman, Los Angeles, are guests of Dr. and Mrs. Charles W. Lemery, Windsor avenue. The men came north for the fishing, and have spent many hours trying out the waters of the Rogue river. Wednesday Mrs. Lemery en tertained at a luncheon for Mrs. Nolan and Mrs. Wahlman, invit ing, guests to her home. Other guests from out-of-the-city in cluded Mrs. Martha Meloth", who is In Medford to visit her daugh ter, Mrs. Theodore Garhart, and Mrs. F. C. Adams of Klamath Falls. The Nolans and Wahlmans plan to leave the first of the week. Medford Woman Named Organizer For Oregon PEO Mrs. Dolph Phipps, Medford, was elected state organizer for the PEO sisterhood during the annual convention held in Port land last week. Mrs. Phipps, long-time mem ber of Chapter AA, Medford, served as state corresponding secretary the last term. She is also a past president of the Southern Oregon council of the sisterhood. A meeting of Chapter AA will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. In the home of Mrs. Frank Van Dyke, 22 North Modoc avenue. Mrs. Van Dyke will report on the state convention. Tea will follow the meeting, with Mrs. J. F. Fliegel and Mrs. V. H. Wilson assisting the host ess. Grants Pass Girl And Ted G. Carton Wed Last Month Miss Nancy Lee Keith, Grants Pass, became the bride of Ted Belford Carton, Route 1, Box 425, Gold Hill, in an evening ceremony May 29 at Newman Methodist church, Grants Pass. The new Mrs. Carton is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. S. Lambert, Grants Pass. The bridegroom, who is in the United States Coast Guard, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John E. Carton, Gold Hill. Performing the single ring ceremony was the Rev. Frank E. Brown, Grants Pass. Mrs. J Wesley Brown, Grants Pass, was maid of honor, and E. S. Klein, Rogue River, was best man. The bride's father gave her in mar riage, and her brother, Eddie Lambert, was also an attendant. The bride chose a navy suit with shell pink accessories for her wedding. Mrs. Brown wore a white suit with black accessor ies, and the bride's mother was dressed in a black suit with ac cessories of pink. Following the ceremony Mr. Lambert gave a dinner for the couple, and a few friends. Paxton, Jacksonville, became the bride of Jerry Allen Montgomery, son of Mr. and Mrs. Don Montgom ery, Talent, in an evening wed ding, June 14, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Emil Sandell, Jacksonville. The double -ring ceremony was read by the Rev. Don Byers of Central Church of Christ. Miss Donna Davies was maid of honor, and Dean Dorman served as best man. The bride's wedding costume was a white nylon afternoon dress worn with a white lace hat. Her accessories were laven-' der, and she wore a red rose bud corsage.- The maid of honor's dress was of nile green material with rhlnestone trim, and she wore a pink swectpea corsage. A reception following the ceremony was given by the bride's parents. Those serving were Miss Shirley Jeschke, cou sin of the bride, and Mrs. Arthur Cleveland, also the bride's cou sin. The couple are staying tem porarily at the Sandell home, and plan to live in Medford later. 1 To Elect ' Medford Sojourners' club will elect new officers at the next meeting set for 1 p.m., June 26 at the Medford hotel. Following a dessert luncheon, card games are planned. Active members are asked to bring an inactive member to the meeting. Johnson, Medford. The bride's gown of white satin was designed with full skirt and train. Her veil of net was edged with imported lace medallions and held by a beaded tiara. She carried white orchid on a white Bible. Miss Harriet Johnson, who served as maid-of-honor for her sister, wore a frock of aquama rine taffeta and net with jacket of lace. The bridesmatron, Mrs. Don W. Johnson, sister-in-law of the bridegroom, wore a gown of yellow identical to that of the maid-of-honor and com car ried bouquets of daisies tinted to match their gowns. Dorothy Hall was flower girl. Her frock was similar to those worn by the other attendants and she carried a basket of rose petals. Miss Susan Culbertson sang, accompanied by Miss Laural Jewett. Mr. Johnson gave his daughter in marriage and Don W. John son, Medford, was best man for his brother. Darel South served as groomsman and Douglas Harsh and Lee Kilbourn ush ered. Women of the Christian Serv ice circle served at the reception which followed the ceremony. Miss Nancy King took charge of the guest book. For the event the bride's moth er wore a navy and white sheer dress with navy accessories and the bridegroom's mother was attired in a print sheer with white accessories. Both wore corsages of gardenias and rose buds. Among the wedding guests were Miss Anne Lid, cousin of the bride from Bergin, Norway; Miss E. Louise Johnson, aunt of the bride from Minneapolis and John W. Roche, grandfather of the bride from Los Angeles. The bride, who was graduated from Central Point High school is now secretary tt the manager of the Central Point branch, First National Bank of Portland Corporal Johnson, who was graduated from Covina Union High school in California, re turned to this country June 4 from Korea where he had been with the army since August of 1951. Couple Married In Service Held At Millard Home A bride of June 14 was Mrs. Lena M. Miller, Central Point, whose wedding to Edward Archie Silkwood, Central Point, took place in the afternoon at the country home of the Rev. and Mrs. D. E. Millard, near Eagle Point. The bride's costume included a navy blue marquisette after noon dress with accessories to match. Her corsage was of white rosebuds. Her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Orth Miller was matron of honor, and Orth Miller, son of the bride, was best man. Mrs. Miller wore a rose beige two-piece afternoon dress for the occasion. After the Rev. Millard per formed the ceremony, he and Mrs. Millard sang. The bridegroom, is employed by the Rogue Valley Country club. The couple will live in Cen tral Point. Dance Held Central Point The Pioneer Room, Jackson Hotel, was the scene of a dance held last Sat urday by Central Point Job's Daughters in honor of the retir ing queen, Miss Nancy Mallon. The girls and their escorts en joyed an informal session of square dancing and a buffet sup per. Miss Mallon was honored with an addendum in the late eve ning.
