Workman Hurt Charles Shepherd, route 2, box 670A, Central Point, suffered a broken arm and lacerations Wednesday afternoon in- a fall while on bridge construction work at Ashland, according to a Sacred Heart hospital report. Signed MOISTURE CONSERVATION LEAGUE Youth Pleads Guilty To Theft of Cable Orvilie" Ray Bogart, 20, of 1310 Sweet road, yesterday pleaded guilty in circuit court to charges of grand larceny, ac cording to records in the office of District Attorney Paul Havi land. The case is being contin ued for investigation. City police had previously re ceived a signed statement from Bogart admitting a part in the theft of cable valued at about $100 from the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph company storage lot at Summit avenue and Mc Andrews road. Four teen-aged youths arrested with Bogart also admitted taking part in the theft. They were turned over to Juvenile authori ties and two have been released to their parents. The other two are still confined in the county jail, the juvenile office reported. Masonic Anniversary Observance Friday The 60th anniversary of Med ford Lodge No. 103. C. Radio .;. 26 Southern Co 13's Obituary GEORGE REHART George A. Rchart, 106 Oregon Terrace, died in a local hospital this morning. Funeral arrange ments are in charge ot Chapel Mortuary. AMELIA DENNIS Funeral services lor Mrs. Amelia Dennis, a resident of the Medford area for the past 24 years who died in Jacksonville Wednesday, will be conducted at the graveside in Siskiyou Me morial park at 1:30 a.m. Friday. The Rev. G. H. Hillerman, of the Zion Lutheran church, will of ficiate. Funeral arrangements are in charge of Chapel Mortu ary. Mrs. Dennis was born in Greene Lake county, Wisconsin, on Oct. 28, 1863. She was mar ried to August Zilke in Prince ton, Wis., on April 7. 1880. He died on March 23, 1936. She was married again to Joseph Dennis who died at Talent in 1848. Mrs Dennis was a member of the Lutheran church. Survivors include one son, Emil Zilke, Vidora, Saskatche wan, Canada ' ;and two daugh ters, Mrs. Alvina Kraus, Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, and Mrs. Elsie Sandberg, North Bend, Oregon. in. the past year. A ceremony marking a century of Freemas onry in Oregon was held by the Medford lodge, Sept. 15, 1951, in a special district meeting. All Masons and members of affiliated groups are invited to attend the anniversary obser vance. Former Medford Man Promoted by Bank L. E. "Bing" Francis, a for mer Medford resident, has been named vice-president of the Till amook First National bank, ac cording to a clipping from the Tillamook Headlight-Herald. Francis was formerlly connec ted with the Jackson county agent's office and was president of the Medford Kiwanis club. He was advanced from agri cultural representative for First National in the Tillamook and Clatsop counties area. In his new position he will head the staff of the Tillamook branch. F. N. Belgrano, president of the First National bank of Fort land, said Francis' outstanding work in that area made him val uable both to the bank and the community. He will be able to expand his services to the peo ple of Tillamook county in his new position, Belgrano added. Baptists Set Vacation Bible School Program The vacation Bible school pro gram of the First Baptist church will be presented at 7:30' p.m. Sunday in the church auditor ium. Each department, through song and recitation, will present the work and study covered in the school. Hand work by the students will be displayed. Tomorrow afternoon, follow ing the final Bible school ses sion, students, teachers and par ents will gather at Hawthorne park for their annual picnic. Enrollment of the school was 225 this year. Thursday, June 19. 1952 Timber Products Bid High on 0-C Timber Timber Products company, Medford, was the successful bid der this week on 5,795,000 board feet of O and C timber in the Forest Creek area. The success ful oral bid totalled $110,544.25, compared with an appraised price of $103,660.25. There was only one other bid. Bid prices and appraisals on individual species included Douglas fir, $18.65 and $17.45 a thousand board feet; Ponderosa pine, $';5.60 and S24.50 a thou sand feet, and Incense cedar, $6.15 and $6.15 a thousand board feet. A second tract of timber of fered for sale by the Bureau of Land Management, including 1, 260,000 board feet of Douglas fir and Ponderosa pine on F.Ik creek, received no bids. The tract will be open for bids for a 90-day period, according to BLM officials. One Man Injured In Auto Accident Ralph Faber, 222 Willamette avenue, was treated and released at Sacred Heart hospital this morning for an elbow injury received in a three-car traffic accident, according to city police and hospital attendants. Police said Faber was the driver of a car involved in a col lision with vehicles operated by Mary E. Mclntyre, 1807 West Main street, and Meredith Miller Huggins, Box 328, Medford. The accident occurred on North Cen tral avenue near Sixth street at about 7 a.m. today, they re ported. Faber was taken to the hos pital bv Conger-Morris ambu lance. Police stated that Huggins was cited for failure to stop at a red light.
