group is under the leadership of

Visiting Here Mrs. Olga
Bush, her sister, Mrs. Rose Ack-
lcy, and Mrs. Ackley's daughter,
Mrs. Rosalie Murray, all of Tuc
son, Ariz., are visiting friends in
the Medford area. They are all
former Medford residents and
are staying at Pulver's motel,

have left after visiting several
days with Mrs. Bolen's parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Bewley, 1002
Winchester avenue, and the E. L.
Bolens on Stewart avenue. Mrs.
Edward J. Bolen is employed in
offices of the Blue Cross Hospital
Service.

Elected Cadet Dwight L.
Hammack, a student at Went-
worth Military academy at Lex
ington, Mo., and son of Mr. and
Mrs. Ward Hammack, 602 North
Riverside avenue, was elected
treasurer of the National Honor
society chapter at the academy
just prior to the close of the
school year. Membership in the
society is limited to outstanding
students in the high school de
partment, according to a release
from the academy.

Classes Intermediate square
dance classes taught by Mrs. Min
nie Robertson at the "Camp Cor
ral," will begin this evening at
8 o'clock, members of the new
class announced today. The class
will consist of six lessons and ex
cept for this first session, will be
weekly on Wednesday evenings
at the same place. The "corral
is located at White City across
from the White City Lumber
company, and persons from Med
ford should go by way of the
Crater Lake highway to the vet
erans domiciliary and turn left

ker, Ore., and several nieces
and nephews.

Fire Weather Survey
Cooperation Reported
A cooperative fire weather
survey program between the
state forest patrol and Medford
Corporation got underway here
yetitarday, according t o Ted
Maul, district warden.
Under the program, Maul said.
Medco will furnish readings of
fuel moisture, relative humid
ity, wind velocity and precipit
ation for the Buttee Falls area.
The firm 'is the first private
area in District 16, including
Jackson, Josephine and part of
Douglas counties, to' take part
in such a program, he said.
Data compiled by Medco
along with other information
collected in District 16, will be
forwarded to state headquarters
in Salem, wher eit will be com
puted and used as a basis for
determining the necessity of for
est closures in this area, Maul
said.
