Delegation Attends First Council Meeting Oregon Voters' League Four members of Medford League o Women Voters were in Seaside, Ore., the first of the week to attend the first biennial council meeting of O re g o n League of Women Voters, The league In the future will hold state conventions -every other year, and a council meeting on the years between. Attending from Medford were Mrs. Frank Fairweather, presi dent of the Medford league; Mrs. Donovan Foster, new vice-president; Mrs. A. E. Littrell and Mrs. S. E. Philips. Mrs. Philips is a member of the state board, hav ing been named chairman of the state tax program for the coming year. Those attending the council session were entertained at a supper in the home of a league member in Gearhart Sunday evening, and council sessions opened Monday at Seaside. No new programs were adopted the sessions being devoted to evaluation of the league's pro gress during the last year and of plans for the coming year. The Medford delegation re turned home Wednesday. Johnson, 325 Vancouver avenue, is the new local presi dent in Medford for the Univer sity of Oregon Dads, according to an announcement made last week by Karl W. Onthank, exe. cutive secretary of the organi zation, and associate director of student affairs at the university Lawrence . A. McCormick 2002 South Stage road, will serve as a board member until 1954. Erickson -Hudson Rites Held at Nazarene Church The wedding of Miss LaWanda Hudson to Donald V. Erick son was an event of May 17 at Church of the Nazarene. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. C. Hudson, 210 Bliss street, Med ford, and the bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Guy Erickson, 815 Cedar street, also this city, The Rev. Vernon Wilcox read the service at eight o'clock in the evening. The floral setting was white stock and pink gladioli. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a traditional white satin gown with tram ana her finger-tip length veil was of silk net. She carried a bouquet of valley lilies and stephanotis centered with a purple orchid. Miss Shirley Wright was maid- of-honor. Her gown was pink and she carried white daisies. Miss Marlene Crase and Miss Marion Anderson, cousin of the bridegroom, were bridesmaids. Miss Anderson wore blue and carried yellow daisies, and Miss Crase's gown was of yellow with which she carried blue daisies. Pamela Brown was flower girl and Gerry Bendixson, cousin of the bridegroom, was ring-bearer. Pamela s dress was of white worn with yellow belt and flowers. Ed Davis was best man for Mr. Erickson and Kenneth Wright and Walter Peterson seated the guests. ' Miss Donna Mack sang, and Mrs. Arnold Kornstad was at the organ. Three hundred guests attend ed the wedding, and 150 at tended the reception which fol lowed. Mrs. Delbert Orgain cut the wedding cake and Mrs. War ren Arnold served punch. Miss Flora Chavis took charge of the guest book and Mrs. Merle Eld ridge and Miss Doris Chavis the gifts. For the wedding and reception the bride's mother wore a navy blue and white suit with corsage of gardenias and red roses. The bridegroom's mother was attired in a yellow and grey suit and her flowers were gardenias and roses. The newlywed couple spent their honeymoon on the Oregon coast and are now living at 214B Lincoln street. - Mrs. Florence Stacy, and son Charles Stacy, have returned to their home here at 214V4 North Peach street, after living in Los Angeles for the past year. Camp White Program Sponsored by Olsens; Fred Divisek Plays A program of organ and accor dion music furnished entertain ment during "an "Enchanted Hour" program at the veterans domiciliary May 28. The regular program is sponsored by Dr. and Mrs. Paul Olsen of the "En chanted Grotto," Crater Lake highway. Directing the recent entertain ment was Fred J. Divisek, who played a half-hour concert on his Hammond organ. Others who appeared in solo accordion num bers were Sharon Simmons, Billy Roy, Kenny Metcalf, Bry an Schroeder, Loretta Orgain, Jack Carlin and Lavonne Carda Miss Marilyn Barker and Miss Ashlby played duet accordion numbers and was joined by Mr. Divisek for trio numbers. Ferris Simpson provided a novelty act Selections wee played by a troupe of 39 band members. Cigarettes were distributed by Dr. and Mrs. Olsen, the gifts of E. J. Bissell, R. J. Reynolds To bacco company representative, who also is to furnish cigarettes again for the June 25 program. Jacksonville Chapter Plans Friendship Night Jacksonville Adarel chapter, Order of Eastern Star, will ob serve Friendship night at a meet ing set for Thursday, June 5, in the Masonic hall at 8 p.m. Mem bers of other valley chapters are invited to attend. The wedding will be held July 19 in the Medford Friends church. v Chrysanthemum Club Meets at Staats Home Chrysanthemum Thimble club, Neighbors of Woodcraft, met at the home of Mrs. B. J. Staats Wednesday evening. Canasta fol lowed a business meeting. Mrs. George Culy and Mrs. John Dodge were awarded prizes. The next meeting will be in the home of Mrs. Robinson. MEDFORD (OREGON) MAIL TRIBUNE THREE Officer and Wife Visit : Lt. Walter L. Linnell aejd Mrs. Llnell are visiting for a few days with the K. F. Murray family on Crater Lake highway. Lieuten ant Linnell is a nephew of Mrs. Murray and has been stationed at Port Berry, the Presidio, San Francisco. They are now en route to Seattle, Wash., where he will be reassigned in the Al askan department. Lieutenant Linnell is a Medford high school graduate and first joined Com pany A, 1st battalion, 186th in fantry, the Medford unit of the national guard. A brother, James H. ' Luncheon Planned By Past Matrons Past matrons of Reames chap ter, Order of Eastern Star, will hold no-hostess luncheon at the Medford hotel Monday, June 2 at 1 p.m. Following the lunch eon, a short business lession will be conducted by the president, Mrs. Ira Canfield.
