Remodeling Done At Groceteria; Reopens Saturday
The Groceteria atore at Sixth
and Grape streets will reopen at
8:30 a.m. tomorrow after being
closed several days for exten
sive remodeling. Weekdays the
atore hours are 8:30 a.m. to 9
p.m. and Sundays from 9 a.m.
to 9 p.m.
The entire store has been re
arranged and new equipment
added. Featured are several
Friedrich refrigerator serve-your-self
units, including a com
plete meat self-service depart
ment. A recent national survey

duce and dairy departments.
Featured In all the Friedrich re
frigeration additions is "floating
air," designed to reduce spoil
age and preserve vitamin con
tent. The wrapping room for the
self-service meats also is equip
ped with "floating air."

shelves are now arranged east
and west Instead of north and
south as before.
Prepared dinners to take out
by the plate soon will be a spe
cialty ol the store from a self-
service refrigerator unit, Gates
added. These dinners will be de
signed for groups, families or

holding fairly steady neither

ported today by Morris B. Leon

sale of U.S. bonds.
During April, $38,000 in E
bonds were sold in the county
for a total of $190,2S8 so far
this year, Leonard said.
Throughout the state, the
trend in sales also is steady, he
said, with $1,550,387 in Series E
bonds sold in April, for a total of
$7,129,078 for the first four
months of 1952.

Young Oregonian marble tourna
ment starting Saturday at Jant

in the 6 and 12 year old age
group, and Paul Zelcznik and
Jim Crumm, Medford, and Ben
ny Walls, Trail, in the 13 to 15 j
year. old group.
Winner of the tournament
will receive an all-expense trip j
to the national tourney in Dur-j
ham, N.C., a bicycle, suit of
clothes, pair of shoes and a mar-'

for the state tournament. !

Opens Survey Office
Grants Pass Norman D
Price, engineer with the Bureau
of Land Management for 32
years, has opened a land and
mineral survey firm here after
retiring from the BLM earlier
this month. Price made surveys
before World War I on which
section corners in Jackson and
Josephine counties are based. I
On his retirement, Price re
ceived the silver badge award
and a certificate for outstanding j
service from Oscar L. Chapman, I
secretary of interior. He will be
associated in the firm here with
Marvin C. Ramsey, local timber
cruiser and road locater.
