To Visit Mr. and Mrs. Al Paget and family, Corvallis. are to arrive this week from Duns muir, and Sacramento, Calif., to visit Mrs. Paget's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Dale, 516 Palm street. They visited here for two weeks before going south. Mrs. Paget is the former Miss Delia Mae Dale. Her husband will graduate this spring from Ore gon State college. Traffic Accident A car driv en by William A. Shaffer, Box 921, collided with a parked truck operated by Lowell C. Ditch, 2601 Merriman road, on South Central avenue near Eighth street at about 9:40 a.m. today according to city police. They said Shaffer s -car was forced into the truck by another ve hicle. Youth To Picnic Members of the Youth Fellowship group of the Zion Lutheran church will hold a wiener roast at ToXiVelle park Sunday, May 25. Families of the members are invited. Attridge, branch president, has reported to city police that six windows at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 648 South Ivy street, have been broken out during the past week officers said today. Plan Supper Group singing of favorite hymns will be fea tured for the program to follow the monthly fellowship supper of Central Point Presbyterian church Thursday, May 22, at 7 p.m. The supper is a potluck event and anyone interested is invited to attend. Bon Born A son. Thomas Stern, was born May 12 to Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Stern, Portland. Mrs. Stern is the former Miss Helen Rubenstein who lived here, with her parents, Mr, and Mrs. Harry Rubenstein, now also of Portland and who lived here at 914 Queen Anne ave nue. The infant weighed eight pounds. Stern i in the whole sale plumbing business in Portland. From Portland Harry Ruben stein and Harry Kaplon, Port land, former operators of the Medford Bargain house for many years, are in Medford this week on business. Canoose In Hospital Edward Canoose Sr., 55 Ross court, is confined to Stanford university hospital, San Francisco, for treat ment. Te is to undergo surgery soon. Canoose is a former Med ford fire chief. Move Moving from the val ley recently were Mrs. Jean Weinsburg from Central Point to Burbank, Calif.; J. F. He left Saturday for the veterans administration hospital there for a checkup. He under went major surgery there sever al months ago. Pre-School Party On Friday, May 13, at 1:30 p.m. the Roose velt Parent-Teacher association will sponsor a pre-school party for children who will enter the first grade at the Roosevelt school for the first time next fall. The event will be at the school and after the children have visited the first grade rooms they will be given treats and attend a movie. At New Base Capt. John Weir and his wife and three chil dren have arrived at Tinkers field air base, near Oklahoma City, Okla., where Captain Weir now Is stationed, according to news received this week by friends. The family lived here about two years at 328 Edwards street. Captain Weir recently re turned after a year's service in Korea, going first to Utah and then here for a 25-day leave. At the close of the leave, May 12, the family left for the Oklahoma base. They hope to return here at some future date, Juniors To Festival Members of the Medford classes of Bliss Heine's Juniors will meet at the old city park at Main and Holly streets Saturday at 9:30 a.m. in uniform where a caravan of parents' cars will take them to the Phoenix Festival. Members of the Phoenix class will meet them in uniform in front of the Phoenix grade school at 10:30 a.m. Members of the Jacksonville class may join them at Medford or at the Phoenix meeting place, Heine said. They will present a program after the parade at 1 p.m. To San Diego Mrs. Marian Sutton, 507 Effie street, and Mr. and Mrs. Al Gaston, Gold Hill, plan to leave Friday for San Diego to visit Mr. and Mrs. Le- Roy Sutton for a week after which the couple will return here with them. Sutton is a Navy airman and son of Mrs. Sutton. His wife, the former Miss Gladys Gaston, is a daughter of the Gas tons. The airman has been in the service for four years and re turned recently after six months service In the Korean combat zone. Previously he served 14 months on the Marshall islands.
