Logtown Meeting The an nual meeting and cleanup day of the Logtown Cemetery as sociation will be held at the cemetery near Ruch Sunday, May 18. A potluck picnic lunch Will be served at noon. All mem bers and others interested are invited to attend. Graduates Dr. S. Ralph Dip- pel, Medford dentist, received word today that his son, Stephen G. Dippel, Grants Pass, is listed among the graduates of the state board of optometry examinations held in March: He now is practic ing optometry in Grants Pass where he lives with his wife and their two sons. He attended Pa cific university school of op tometry. To Speak Charles Russell, water safety field representative from the San Francisco Red Cross area office, will speak to Junior Red Cross High School council members Wednesday noon at Prospect high school. Russell now is teaching instruc tor's classes in swimming at the Jackson Hot springs. Anyone wanting to contact the field rep resentative may call him at the springs. V Marine Here Jerry Sherman, a private first class in the Marine corps, is visiting here until May 27 when he will report to Camp Pendleton, Calif., for overseas duty. He was stationed at Camp Lejeune, N.C., until coming here. Mrs. Sherman accompanied him to Medford from the North Carolina camp where she also has been living for the past two months. Their home here is at 2241 Jacksonville highway. Mrs. Sherman is employed in the bookkeeping department of the Untied States National bank. GREEN STAMPS Receives Schooling Bert M. Rostel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bert C. Rostel, who recently complet ed basic training at the Navy air school at Jacksonville, Fla., will remain there for 19 more weeks to complete further schooling, his parents said today. Adult Class The Adult Bible class of the First Presby terian church will meet Thurs day, May 15, at 12 noon in the church for a covered dish lunch eon. There will be a business meeting and social hour follow ing the meeting. Traffic Accident Bufford O. Newton, Van Nuys, Calif., and William R. Stout, 415 Sum mit avenue, were drivers of cars which collided at the intersec tion of Central avenue and Third street at about 6:55 a. m. today, according to city police. They reported damage to both cars and said Newton was cited for failure to stop at stop sign. With Infantry Don E. Bun- tin, an Army corporal, recently was graduated from the first troop information discussion leader course held in Korea since the beginning of the Ko rean conflict, according to an Army release. He is with the 45th infantry division. The class was designed to teach the men to assist in the troop information and education programs of their own units. His wife, and his par ents, Mr. and Mrs. W. E. Bimtin, live at Route 1, Gold Hill. He is attached to the 179th infantry regiment's Company D. Phoenix Women A meeting of the Ladies Aid society of Phoenix Presbyterian church will be held Wednesday, May 14, at 2 p. m. at the church, when business of importance to all members will be discussed. Committees for a May festival booth will be appointed and a coffee urn which the group is interested in purchasing will be demonstrated. Mrs. Jewell Parr and Mrs. George Osier are in charge of entertainment. Mrs. J. O.N. Poling and Mrs. Jennie Askinson will serve refresh ments. a Baby Burned Ronnie West one-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs Robert West, Glendale, is con fined to Osteopathia hospital fo treatment of first and second de gree burns over 30 per cent d his body suffered Saturday, hos pital attendants reported t h is morning. The boy was burmd when he milled an electric pr colator over on him, the repojti said. He is reported consider ably improved. Also in the luj pital are Walter Chaffee, Goti Hill, who was admitted MondW for medical attention, and Brife Wright, 3, son of Mr. and Ns. Forbes, 40 North Peach ptreet, underwent emergency ap pendectomy today at Sacred Heart hospital, according to at tendants. Mike Hurt, 5, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mose Hurt, 2540 Tennessee drive, and Murphy McHough, 212 Barneburg road, 1-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth McHugh, are surgery patients there. Richard Chamb erlain, 4V, son of Mr. and Mrs Ray Chamberlain, Box 506, Eagle Point, is a medical patient at the same hospital. Others there include Richmond- Havni ear, a medical patient, Box 962, Central Point, and David Wade, 311 South Holly street, a Med ford city water department em ployee, who is receiving treat ment for a burned foot, attend' ants said today.
