Abbreviated Ballot
Ashland The Ashland Eisen
hower for President committee
this week recommended that an!
"abbreviated sample ballot" be
prepared, showing whiob candi-
dates for delegate to thfltiational
GOP convention are for Eisen
hower.
Since there are 50 candidates
for the 10 delegate-at-large posts,
the committee pointed out that
there may be considerable con
fusion as to who is for whom.
And they added that seven of
the at-large candidates are Taft
supporters, and have filed for
election by petition, which
would mean they would not be
bound to vote for the choice of
Oregon voters at the convention, I
if they were elected.
The committee said, "It is felt
that the best insurance to pre
vent these acknowledged Taft
supporters from capturing un
witting Ike delegate votes is to
prepare a paid advertisement
showing the names of candidates
for national committeeman and
delegates who are recognized
Eisenhower supporters."
