(Brainerd photo) Barnes Chevrolet Firm Opens Safety Check Program Start of a nationwide auto mobile safety program sponsored by the Chevrolet Motor division of General Motors, was an nounced here last week by Barnes Chevrolet company, 227 East Ninth street. According to Larry Barnes, owner of the firm, the program Is based on a continuous routine of car checks in order to elim inate defects that might lead to traffic accidents. "We feel that this is one of the soundest proj ects of its kind ever under taken," Barnes said. "Over the years it will do much to reduce traffic accidents rates in the community," he stated. Check Cars Free Under the program, Barnes ex plained, all passenger cars and trucks entering his firm for service will be given a free 10 point inspection. This examina tion will cover mechanical items frequently involved in accidents, such as tires, steering, brakes, headlights, taillights, horn and exhaust system, he said.
