Fagone has said that he Is
well pleased with his squad so
far and feels that it will do well
in the league. He reported the

and Jack Burns at third base.

dual meet at Klamath Falls. The

The Black Tornado took first

ing one, two, three in the shot
put and 220-yard dash. Klamath

Ed Bingham was Medford's

county B high school track and
field meet at the Medford high
stadium.
Phoenix won only two firsts.

Creek its first setback in JDJ
league baseball action Friday by
nicking the Vikings 3 to 2 at
Central Point.
Myrtle Creek still holds the
loop lead with four wins and one
loss while Crater ranks second
with three victories and two de
feats. The Comets scored their win
ning run in the seventh and final
canto. Del Tucker singled and
went to second on an error and
Gordon Carrigan drove him
across with a single.
Crater opened the scoring in
the first inning when Howard
Morris doubled, went to third
on a groundout and dashed home
on an error. The Vikings knotted
up the game in the fourth frame
when Komp singled, stole sec
ond and tallied on successive
groundouts.
Lead Regained
The Comets regained the lead
in the same Inning. Morris
walked, stole second and went
to third on an overthrow to
second. He was squeezed home
by Bob Hill. In the fifth the
Viks deadlocked the game again
as Cavener got on base on an
error and Jones and Komp
singled.
Crater employed aged strategy
to prevent a run when Myrtle
Creek had men on second and
third in the second inning. Catch
er Morris heaved the ball In an
apparent attempt to catch the
runner at second. But Vern
Parent came in, cut off the
throw and fired the ball baok to
Morris who tagged out the other
runner trying to score.
Punky Monroe, chucking for
Crater, struck out 11 batters and
walked three while Phillips.
Viking thrower, fanned six and
walked two.
