San Francisco, CU R) The min

later date the controversial rec

At Friday's meeting of the
group, discussion on the issue
was called off when it was noted
that a reporter was taking notes
of the proceedings.
General Opposition
Up to the time that discussion
ceased, the motion was faced
with general opposition among
the committee members who dis

which advocated full status for
women in the ministry.
Dr. James S. Chubb, of the
Nebraska Conference, heads the
sub-committee which recom

ommend the step to the General
Conference.
Just as the matter was about
to be presented to committee
vote, a member addressed the
chairman, asking if any mem
bers of the press were present at
tne open session.
A disclosure that the reporter
was present, brought a motion
to close debate and the discus
sion was postponed until a later
date.
It was pointed out that under
present Methodist Church law.
