MAN ARRESTED
Charles H. Ussery, 41, of route
1, box 186, Eagle Point, was ar
rested at about 9;40 p.m. Tues
day by city police and charged
with driving while under the in
fluence of intoxicating liquor, ac
cording to police records. Off i-
c,ers stated that Ussery was re
leased last night on $100 bail.

will be made to raise all charity
and welfare funds through one
drive, Oregon Community Chest
leaders were told Tuesday.
Some 30 or more years ago
the Community Chest was form
ed to raise money in one drive
for all such purposes. But as
the years went by one organiza
tion after another started an an
nual drive of its own until now
there are nearly as many drives
as before plus the Community
Chest. -
The matter brought up at the
statewide meeting here was that
of combining Community
Chests and councils and the mul
tiple agencies now holding an
nual drives into one general or
ganization to be known as the
United Fund Appeal.

operating yesterday morning at
the Medford municipal airport.
The Medford fire department
and Conger-Morris ambulanca
service stood by while the plan
came In.
The northbound plane took
off at 7:39 a.m. and lost use of
one engine about one minut
later when about two mile
north of the field. The plana,
piloted by Captain Fancher,
landed at 7:43 a.m.
