TWO MEDFORD (OREGON) MAIL TRIBUNE Miss Elaine Walker And Philip George Married Thursday Miss Elaine Walker became the bride of Philip R. George in a ceremony for family members and close friends held April 17, Thursday, at First Presbyterian church. Dr. D. Kirkland West read the double-ring ceremony at 4:30 o'clock In the afternoon. The bride is the daughter of Verl G. Walker, 2642 Merriman road, Medford, and the bride groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. F. Robert George, Portland. For the ceremony the bride wore an afternoon dress of aqua marine blue linen designed with full skirt and worn with natural linen accessories. Her bouquet was of yellow iris with croton leaves. Matron - of - honor was Mrs. Richard H. Collins, college friend of the bride who came from San Francisco for the wed ding. She wore a short linen bolero dress of cafe au lait with white accessories. She carried blue iris with croton leaves. Mr. Walker gave his daugh ter in marriage, and George M. Scnnatt, friend of the bride groom from Ashland, was best man. A reception for about 35 guests was held In the Fireplace room of the church. The re freshment table was laid with a Chinese linen table cloth loaned by Mrs. Ben Stafford. The cen terpiece was of pink tulips and white daffodils. Mrs. Louis Da vis, aunt of the bride from Santa Ana, Calif., cut the wedding cake and Miss Florence Erbes served punch. For the wedding and recep tion the bride's grandmother, Mrs. D. J. Steiner, Medford, wore a steel blue dress with pink camellia corsage. The bridegroom's mother was at tired in a light blue suit worn with pink camellia corsage. Here for the wedding were the bridegroom's parents and his sister, Joan Clifton, and Mr. and Mrs. David Rees, Mt. The double ring cere mony was performed at four o'clock by the Rev. D. F. Bar nett. The bride, a graduate of Rogue River high school, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Shock of East Evans road. The bridegroom, who is sales man ager for the National Circulating company, Is from West Virginia. Miss Anna Gochanour was maid-of-honor and Miss Pat Kasper of Wimcr and Miss Nancy Cummings of Rogue Riv er were bridesmaids. Flower girl was Jeanie Chancier of Wimer. Curtis Hoover was best man and ushers were Steve Farley and Fred Silveia. The bride was given in mar riage by her father. She wore a gown of white satin with a lace halo hat and lace and net finger tip veil, and carried a bouquet of orchids and white carnations. The maid of honor wore a gown of aqua taffeta and carried a bouquet of yellow carnations. The bridesmaids were gowned in yellow taffeta and lavender organdie and nylon, and carried pink carnations. The church was lighted with candles and decorated with bas kets and arrangements of spring flowers. Rose Marie Condray sang, accompanied by Ruth Worrall, orRanist. About fifty-five guests attend ed the reception which was held In Fellowship hall. The couple made a wedding trip to San Francisco where they will re join Mr. Quesenberry'j traveling sales crew. Electa Social Club Schedules Mealing Electa Social club will meet April 25 nt 1 p.m. at Girls Com munity club. Dessert will be served, and cards will follow. All non-affilinted members of Order of Eastern Star are in vited to attend. Multnomah college, Is a broad cast engineer for Radio Station KGON in Oregon City. The couple will live in Portland. (jg) Richard Lindsay Al ford, Medford. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed ward R. Monahan, Long Beach, and the bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Lind say Alford, 517 West Tenth street, Medford. The Alfords went south for the wedding. The ceremony took place Sun day, April 6, at Bayshore Con gregational church in Long Beach, with the Rev. Milton G. Gabrielson reading the vows at three o'clock in the afternoon. - Mr. Monahan gave his daugh ter in marriage. The bride's gown was of white taffetized shantung over crinoline, with lace yoke and lace overskirt. A halo bonnet of lace and silk with pearls to match the bride's neck lace and earrings held her finger-tip length veil. She wore lace mits and carried a bouquet of fleur d'amour and orange blos soms centered with a white orchid. Mrs. Richard Kelly Smyth was matron-of-honor. Her bal lerina length taffeta frock of powder blue was worn with semi-cloche, trimmed with blue and yellow roses, and short ruf fled mitts. Miss Kay Gaby and Miss Ruth Ann Walsh, the latter of San Francisco, were bridesmaids. Their frocks were powder blue taffeta with matching cummer bunds and both wore bandeaux of blue and yellow roses and mitts. The bride's mother wore a ballerina length gown of mauve lace over orchid taffeta with matching accessories and orchid corsage. The bridegroom's moth er was attired in a bengaline suit of deep purple worn with a pink hat and gray accessories. Her corsage was an orchid. Robert F. Kyle Jr., Medford, was best man and ushers were Earl W. Richards, Richard Kelly Smyth and Lt. (Jg) Har,ry Austin. The reception which followed was held at the Assistance League clubhouse, Long Beach Miss Sharon Wakelam, Los An geles, took charge of the guest book and Mrs. Harry Drumrlght and Mrs. I. C. Howard cut the wedding cake. Miss Joanne Mc- Cormick, Los Angeles, served punch and Miss Patricia Laird, coffee. The newlyweds spent honey moon at the Hotel Coronado, San Diego, and are at home at 6041-C North Atlantic boulevard, Long Beach. The bride Is a graduate of Wilson High school, Long Beach and of Long Beach City college and Long Beach Institute of Technology. She is a past honor ed queen of Job s Daughters, Bethel 59, Los Angeles. - The bridegroom, a graduate of Medford High school and the University of Colorado, Is a past master counsellor of Medford Order of Demolay. He is now sta tioned at Terminal island on the minesweeper USS Flicker. (Photo by Lloyd's of Hollywood) Sorority To Hold Annual Bazaar In Eden Garden Alpha Beta chapter, Beta Sig ma Phi sorority, is again making plans for the annual garden ba zaar. The event will be held in the garden of Mrs. O. A. Eden, 211 Genessce street, April 25 and 26 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. It is stated that the bazaar is being held almost a month earl ier this year since this is a bet ter time for setting out plants. Also planned is a gaily decor ated cooked food booth where guests may purchase home-cooked pies, cakes and other foods. The committee in charge of the "white elephant" booth promises a number of worth while items, including a large selection of unusual earrings made by sorority members. The plant booth will feature cut flowers and house plants as well as flats of both flower and vegetable seedlings. A refreshment booth will again be set up in the back gar den where coffee and other light refreshments will be serv ed at nominal charge. The sorority extends an invi tation to the general public to attend the bazaar. It is pointed out that the funds from last year's bazr.ar were used to buy a movie projector which is used to show pictures at the county hospital, and that a similar use will be made of this year's bazaar proceds. Lemmon and Gordon W. Koehler was made this week. The 7 o'clock evening rites were read by the Rev. Meredith A. Groves at the First Methodist church. The bride Is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Lemmon, 5179 Crater Lake highway, and the bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Harold Koehler, 3543 Table rock road. Mrs. J. M. Goff, sister of the bridegroom, was matron of hon or and Mr. Goff was best man. For her marriage the bride wore a gold knit dress with brown accessories. Her bouquet was of small pink rosebuds which she carried on a white Bible. Mrs. Goff's dress was of black and white and she wore a violet corsage. A small reception was given jointly by parents of the bride and bridegroom In the home of the bridegroom. The bride, who lived in the valley for 21 years, has been em ployed by the Social Security administration. The bridegroom is a private in the Army and previously was employed by Dale Blickenstaff, contractor. Both were graduated from Med ford Senior High school in 1949.
