A liar who says he Is 74 years old no offense Intended if he catches this outburst bends, touching his toes without bending h 1 s knees, 50 times a day. He asks whether this Is beneficial in any way. He Is retired from active work. The stunt sounded f or mldnble, but Dr. Brady on trying it I find It Is hardly worth mentioning, In connection with v-l t-e. What is vite? The word Isn't recognized by Webster, except the French musical term vile (pronounced veel, meaning live or quickly), but it Is clearly do fined on p. 7 of the booklet Th Saven Ktyt lo Vila (pronounced as it Is spelled). For the booklet send 25c and stamped, self-addressed envelope. A half dozen movements from the Last Brady Symphony are described and illustrated In the booklet. I recommend these to our good friend the liar, together with half a dozen somersaults to sort of round off the regular morning routine. I call the man a liar because I don't believe a person past 65 (in his arteries and other tissues, that is) can or will practice any such daily exercise as he de scribes. Most individuals are too set, stiff and brittle In body and mind to carry on any such activ ity nfter 65. Resilience. Klasliclty. Spring. Bounce. Tep. These character istics and not chronology, deter mine one's age. The term pp has been so much misused by vendors of nos trums, and booze that I hesitate to use it at all in talk about health. One should disassociate it altogether from the burlesque of stage, screen and television. It is the natural resilience of the untamed animal or the primitive savage no make-believe about it. Far from doing half a dozen rolls first thing every morning, most old geezers past forty or fifty are too brittle and stiff to try such a silly stunt. Fleet said Monday. " Van Fleet said since he took command of the 8th Army one year ago, U.N. forces have de stroyed eight Chinese armies and three North Korean corps. Despite the enormous losses of men and supplies, Van Fleet said, the Chinese and North Koreans are still capable of mounting an offensive "quite as long" as their all-out efforts in April and May, 1951.
