CENTRAL POINT CONCERT The Renanah choir of Simp
son Bible institute, Seattle, Wash., will present a concert at 7:45
p.m. Tuesday, April 15, at the Community Bible church, Fourth
nnd Alder streets, Central Point. The program will include choral
numbers and well-known hymns and gospel songs. The choir has
made numerous concert appearances throughout the Pacific coast
under the direction of Russell Marshall. Other smaller musical
ensembles will be featured with the choir.

Assessment Talks
Due at Meeting
A committee of 10 business
men will meet with County As
sessor C. A. Myers and his depu
ties Monday at 9 a.m. to work
out final details of a new pro
gram for personal property tax
assessment in regard to merchan
dise inventories.
Myers' deputies reported Sat
urday that the "legwork" on the
recent check of merchandise in
ventories has been completed.
But the committee has been call
ed together to work out final
factors leading to a logical and
equitable basis for a fair assess
ment of merchandise, it was re
ported. The assessment ratio which
they will help establish will be
comparable to that now existing
for purposes of taxation on other
types of property, including real
property.
The businessman's committee
was selected as representative of
the businesses involved In the
project.

Transient Arrested Wilbert
T. Doman, a transient, was ar
rested by city police yesterday
on a charge of shoplifting at a
local market. He was lodged in
the city jail.
Cars Collide Cars belonging
to David L. Savago and Therman
E. McDougall, both of Ashland,
collided Saturday morning at
the Intersection of Tolman Creek
road and Highway 99 south of
Ashland, state police reported.
No one was injured but both
cars were damaged, the report
said.
