In Texas Mr. and Mrs. Charles Underwood and son, Garry Downard, who moved from here last July are at Ran ger, Tex., where they are estab lished in farming. Principally they grow cotton, according to relatives here. Underwood also is associated with an electrical firm. The son is a high school student at Ranger and is active In instrumental music activities there. Mrs. Underwood's mother, Mrs Nellie M. Morehouse lives here at 1063 Court street. Convalescing Mrs. Earl Shu- riff is convalescing at the home of her sister, Mrav Floyd Old, Hillcrest road. She underwent surgery three weeks ago and is reported to be improved. Miss Crow is reported to be improved e Visitors Leave Mr. and Mrs. L. A. Wise left Thursday for their home in Calgary, Alberta, Can., after visiting Mr. and Mrs H. F. Nordwick, 919 Reddy street. The Nordwicks are for mer Calgary residents and knew the Wises when living there. The couple visits here frequently. On Leave Sgt. Vangie Tur- rell and his brother, Cpl. Don TurrelL formerly of Central Point, who served for the past 3Vfc years in Austria with the Army, are visiting relatives and friends in the valley while on leave, according to friends. Russell Faulkner, owner of Valley Farm Products, 18 west second street, has reported a break and entry at the firm, city police said to day. They reported that .burg lars got between $0 and $8 in cash Wednesday night or Thurs day morning. The burglary was not reported until Thursday aft ernoon, officers said. Graduated Jordan D. Horn beck, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Harris, 723 West Thirteenth street, was recently graduated from the sea school at the Ma rine corps recruit depot at San Diego, Calif., where he is a Marine private first class, ac cording to a release from 'the depot. The course prepares Ma rines for duty on board capital ships of the Navy as a perma nent part of the ship's comple ment. He enlisted m the corps at Portland and received recruit training at the San Diego depot. He is to be transferred now to the Marine barracks at the Naval station there for assignment to a Marine detachment on board a Navy vessel. rriday. Armpriest, Route 1, Jackson ville, and Robert C. L. Jenkins, 755 Marshall avenue, Medford, were drivers of two cars which collided on Sixth street between Holly and Ivy streets at aobut 4:55 p. m. Thursday, according to city police. Minor damage to the two cars was reported and Armpriest was cited for failure to yield right of way, police stated. Junior Red Cross To Display Work Members of the Junior Red Cross will present a public dis play of the type of work thev do in a show window at the Med ford Montgomery Ward store be tween 10 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. tomorrow, it was announced to day by Miss Vera Humphrey, director. t Youngsters of the organization will be in the window preparing Easter decorations for veterans hospitals, their current project. A Held for Cor Theft A 17-year-old Eagle Point boy has been arrested by Compton, Cal., city police on a Medford warrant charging larceny of an automobile, city police said to day. Officers stated that a 1950 coupe stolen March 12 from Cooksey Motor company, 134 South Riverside avenue, was re covered by California police when the youth was arrested. The boy is being held in the California city under $2,500 bail, Medford authorities stated. They added that the youth is impli cated in at least three other car thefts here.
