Hood, Tex., with the 82nd air borne division, the aggressor force in Exercise Long Horn, ac cording to an Army news re lease. The division, normally sta tioned at Ft. Bragg, N. C, will oppose one armored and two in fantry divisions in an effort to test firepower and mobility of the . participating units. Braley Jr., at the Army hospital at Ft. Eus tis, Va., according to a release from Ftr .ilustis. The infant has been named Elizabeth Prince, and she weighed 7 pounds 14 ounces. L She is the paternal granddaughter of C. R. Braley, 245 Valley View drive. The mother is the former Miss Mary Nuf er of Goldsboro, N. C. The couple now is living at . York town, Va. Coats, 93, who died Sunday, will be forwarded tonight by Conger Morris funeral home to Madi son, S. D., where Hallenbeck funeral home will be In charge of services and interment. Mr. Coats was born June 11, 1858, in Richland county, Wis consin. He came to southern Oregon from Madison in 1947. On Dec. 11, 1884, in Boaz, Wis consin, he was married to Isa belle Niles, who died in 1949. ... Survivors include three sons, Francis M., Medford: Charles W., Everett, Wash.; and James P., Madison, S. D.; two daughters, Mrs. Clara E. Seagram, Lady- smith, Wis.; and Mrs. Arvilla I Lillie, Perry, la.; 25 grandchil dren, 22 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Former Medford Woman Wins $5,000 Contest Mrs. Carl Mark, former Med ford resident now living at 2787 Sheridan avenue. North Bend, has been announced as winner of a $5,000 prize in a Kitchen Craft contest sponsored by Safe way stores, according to infor mation received here by friends. Mrs. Mark, for many years an invalid, is now improved, it is reported. The family left here RAISSA FRESHWATER . Services for Mrs. Raissa Fresh water, who died Saturday, will be held in Conger-Morris Chapel Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. Shelvy Anglemyer offic iating. Committal will be in Siskiyou Memorial park. Mrs. Freshwater was born April 9, 1899, in Overn, France; On April 29, 1919, in Bordeaux, France, she was married to Ira Freshwater, who survives. She came to southern Oregon seven years ago from Dodge City, Kans., and has been living on the Fern Valley road. Otner survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Donald House, Medford; a son, Albert, Ashland; a sister, Paulette Delatore, in France; and six grand-daughters. CHARLES SKEETERS Charles Francis Skeeters, 75, died at the home of his daugh ter on Crater Lake avenue this morning. Funeral arrangements are in care of Conger-Morris funeral home. WALTER SMITH Funeral services for Walter Birdette Smith, 62, of 1597 Camp Baker road, who died at a local hospital Monday, will be held Thursday at 10:30 a. m. at Perl funeral home with Minis ter Everett McGee officiating Interment will be in Mountain iew cemetery at Ashland. The deceased, who was born at Eugene on March 15, 1890, had been a resident of the vicin ity for the past 12 years. He at tended school at Pendleton and was a member of the Ma sonic lodge and Uddfellows lodge at Davenport, Wash. Survivors include his wife, Georgia R.; a daughter, Georgia Ann; four stepchildren, Ralph L. Hite, Wayne D. Hite, Max E. Hite and Aubrey F. Hite, all of Medford; two sisters, Emma Mc Curtain, Talent, and Mina Hyde, LaCrosse, Wis.; a brother, Ed gar, Ashland; two nephews and four nieces.
