TWO MZSFOHD (OREGON) MAIL TRIBUNE Dedication Week To Be Observed By Methodists In observance of "The Weel of Dedication" the Rev. Mere dith Groves will speak on 'W Have an Alter" at the 11 a. m service Sunday, at the Firs Methodist church.' The service will be broadcas' over radio, station KYJC. Special music will include an anthem by the chancel choir, "Build Thee More Stately Man sions," with Herbert Daniels di recting; a solo by Mrs. Lyle SchooDert. "If With All Your Hearts,"; and "Whispering Hope" by the Methodist Men s quartet. Mrs. Jerry B. Sherman will Dlav orean numbers. At the 7:30 p. m. service there will be reception . of members and bantism of children and adults. Mr. Groves will speak on "We Would See Jesus." Special music includes a se lection by the Vesper choir, "He Lives." and a duet, by Mr. and Mrs. William Wilson. Following the service a re ception will be held for the new members in the church parlors. Free Methodists Hold Conference ' Delegates from seven Free Methodist churches in the Rogue River district met at the third quarterly conference at the Medford Free Methodist church, February 26 and 27. Presiding over the session was the Rev. R. T. Fine, Salem, su perintendent of the Oregon con ference. ' Highlights of the conference were the messages presented by Bishop Leslie R. Marston, Greenville, 111. On his first visit to the Rogue river valley the bishop reportedly was impressed by the climate, the scenery and the friendliness of the people. Dr. Marston urged interde nominational cooperation for a revival of morality true Chris tianity in America. The evangelist will be the Rev. William S. Deal, nationally known evangelist, author and church leader. Mr. Deal is known in Medford for conduct ing two meetings here. Clynton Crisman is secretary of the board of evangelism for the Oregon yearly meeting, which includes the states of Ore gon, Washington and Idaho. TALENT LONG BURIED Providenfce, R. I. (U.R) For 17 years, Rico Turchetti played bis guitar which looks like a combination ironing board and surf board in and around his borne city here without causing excitement. Then a few weeks ago he appeared on a nation-wide TV talent program and overnight skyrocketed to success. Now he has a contract for a weekly ap pearance on a television pro gram from coast to coast. CREAM 0 Christian Church Slates; Special - Program Series : - First Christian church, at Med ford is planning a special series of programs leading to Easter Sunday. The church is now in an extensive evangelistic effort and has sef a goal of 132 additions on Easter Sunday, April 13. .The congregation has made a covenant ; of prayer, in . which members are to pray each day, that 192 people will come into the church on Easter Sunday. The church is now engaged in an extensive calling campaign, and will follow this with a more definite approach for decisions April 6 to 13 when Bayne E. Driskill, director of evangel ism for Texas, will lead in this special evangelistic effort Mr. Driskill has already visit ed the church and will lead such a campaign in both Port land and Seattle during March. In preparation for the pro gram special sermons are being presented each Sunday and the Bible School is stressing attend ance and decision. The goal for Easter Sunday attendance in the Bible School is 650. The following series of ser mon subjects indicate the type of messages that will be pre sented: March 2, 11 a. m., "A Vision , of Ezekiel"; 7:30 p. m., "Man's Greatest Sin." March 9, 11 a. m., "The Church of Christ"; 7:30 p. m., "Lifting the Veil." March 16, 11 a. m., "Can One Be Saved Without the Church?"; 7:30 p. m., "Repent ence of a Great City." March 23, 11 a. m., "What Must I Do To Be Saved?" The pastor has asked that the sanctuary be filled Sunday eve nings as well as mornings. All interested are invited to the services.
