Car Damaged Richard Le Roy Sewell, 321 Effie street, re ported yesterday to' city police that the left rear fender of his automobile was damaged about noon by a hit and run driver. To Medford 's contribution of 212 pints on the 13th has been added .204 pints from Ashland Tuesday and .103. pints , from Rogue River Wednesday.; j Praise Efficiency ," The operation in Ashland was handled .entirely by Ashland Elks headed by Sid Reed and Mrs. H. S. Ingle. The two lead ers of the Red Cross county pro gram, Mrs. Leston Huntley and Mrs. Ward Hammond, today paid tribute to the efficiency of the blood center there. They said that enthusiasm is so high in Ashland that Medford will give up its March bloodmobile visit in favor of Ashland which will call on donors there again March 12. . , ... To make up the lost date, Med ford will hold its first two-day operation April 15 and 16. Lady Elks will sacrifice their regular meeting day to accommodate the blood center in the Elks lounge. The center in Rogue River was operated, cooperatively by Mrs. Ed Brace of Rogue River and Mrs. Paul Thompson of Gold Hill. Both communities provided donors. 'She is survived by six chil dren, Mrs. Loretta Denney, Med ford; OrinEllis, Hilt, Calif.; Nine Ellis, Medford; Mrs. Millie Lu per, Sacramento, Calif.; Lester Ellis,' Butte Falls; and Charles Ellis, Butte Falls; two sisters in Kansas; 30 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. CATHERINE THATCHER Funeral services for Cather ine Anna Thatcher, 75, of 208 Beatty street, who died in a local hospital Sunday, will be held at Perl funeral home Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. D. Kirkland West officiating. Inter ment will be in Jacksonville cemetery. Ladies of the Eagles auxiliary will participate in the services. The deceased was born at Peoria, 111., on April 16, 1876, and was married to Charles Fischer at Peoria on June 3, 1896. He died in 1934 and on June 29, 1941, she was married to Will A. Thatcher, who sur vives, at Grants Pass. Mrs. Thatcher was a member of the Eagles auxiliary and the "Get Together" club. Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. C. A. Thatcher, Medford; three grandchildren, Carson A., Jeanette E. and Ver non E., and a brother, Joe Broenneke, Peoria. ERMA STUART - Funeral services for 'Mrs. Erma Carol Stuart, 1118 East Main street, who died Friday in Galesburg, 111., will be conduct ed at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Chapel mortuary with the Rev. Meredith A. Groves of the First Methodist church officiating. In terment will be in Siskiyou Me morial park, with Reames chap ter 66, Order of Eastern Star in charge of the committal service. The body will lie in state to day until 10 p.m. at the mor tuary. Mrs. Stuart, the daughter of James B. and Alice Whitney Wade, was born in Lima, 111., on Aug. 8, 1888. She was married to Jacob D. Stuart invQuincy, 111., on Aug. 18, 1907, and the family came to Medford a little over four years ago. Mr. Stuart preceded her in death in October of 1950. , She was a member, of the Methodist church, a Past Wor thy Matron of the Order of East ern Star in Wendell, Ida., and a member of the Brazella chap ter in Albany, Ore. Survivors include one son, J. Wade, Sacramento, Calif.; one daughter, Mrs. Jane Little, Med ford; and six grandchildren.
