Couple Married In Recent Service At Dawes' Home -, Mr. Jrsincia tun ana ivenu rick E. Watson were married in ceremonies performed February 14 in the home of the Rev. .YT. A. Dawes of the First Baptist church. The rites were read at 7:30 p. m. About 17 guests at tended. . -The bride was attended by her young daughter, Venonna Gene Harbour. Clarence Williams wT9A 'as hest man. For her marriage the bride wore a tailored navy blue suit with cape and white trim. Her hat was blue and white and she wore a pale lavender orchid corsage. : Her daughter wore M black and white checked bolero suit and carried a nosegay bouquet of red and white carnations. . Bouquets of snapdragons with red tulips and carnations furn ished decorations for the wed ding: A reception was given in the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Crawford, ,515 West Second street. A tiered heart-shaped cake en circled with red carnations cen tered the serving table. Punch also Was' served. ' The -couple made a wedding trip to Portland and Seattle and will live at Ideal court. - The bridegroom is a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. George T. Watson. Both bride and bride groom were born in the Rogue valley. ;. The bride is employed as a legal stenographer in the offices ;of Charles W. Miss Joyce Leeper and Kenneth Reynolds were crowned King and Queen of Hearts by Student Body President Willis ZumwalU Attendants to their Royal Highnesses were Miss taarcia Graham and Miss Margie Stra der, cupids; Miss Shirlee How ard and Miss Colleen Carter, princesses; and Larry Quacken- bush and Gary Strauss, princes. A grand march led by the royal court immediately follow ed the coronation. Beginning at the grass covered terrace, it pro ceeded on a white carpet with the cupids strewing hearts in the path of the court. It was then joined by members of the student body. ) For the valentine's festivities the Talent school gymnasium transformed Into a fairy Ball room. With a color scheme of red and white, all decorations were of the valentine motif. The center of the floor was high lighted with a fish pond com plete with water lilies and sur rounded with green grass from which grew small red hearts. Dancing was to the music of a professional four piece orches tra and refreshments were serv ed by candlelight The serving table centerpiece was of red carnations and white stock at tractively arranged with fern and hearts in a white container. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Williams, Mr. and Mrs. Nute Tycksen, Mr. and Mrs. George Yockel, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Joanis, Mr. and Mrs. J. Helm, Mr. and Mrs. Benejamin Bene dict, Mr. and Mrs. Irving Thomas, Mr. and Mrs. Alton Schopfer, Mr. and Mrs. Chet Zediker, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Barnes. Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Parr and James Fuller. -In charge of the details of the dance was the Student Coun cil, headed by President Willis Zumwalt. Shirlee Howard and Joyce Leeper were appointed for decorations; Carol Zediker and Gayle Thoreson, coronation and programs; home economics' class. refreshments. Others assisting were Terry Burnette, Jack Sey mour, Kenneth Reynolds and Byron Dixon. Queen Joyce I was presented with a bouquet of red and white carnations and the Princesses were given gardenia corsages. Queen Joyce was gowned In lavender satin and nylon net; Princess Shirlee in red tafetta ations. and net and Princess Colleen wore black tafetta. Cupids Mar cia and Margie were drtssed In pastel colors with gardenia corsages. Miss Fran Cooper of Grants Pas told Medford Bust ness and Profraaional Women's club members Thursday evening. when telling of her vistt to Flush ing meadows lat summer. Learning that through its pro grams fifty million children of the world had been tested for tuberculosis, and hearing a Bel gian representative questioned concerning his country's adminis tration of an African trusteeship, pointed up some of the many hu manitarian purposes of the or ganization to the young observer. Miss Cooper said she can no longer assent to a common con ception of the United Nations as a mere debating society. Now a Junior In Grants Paso high school. Miss Cooper won her opportunity to observe the United Nations In action as an award in econtest sponsored by the Oddfellows and Rebrkah lodges. Fran was also one of three western delegates elected to attend the recent Episcopal youth conference at Greenwich, Conn. A consequence of both ex periences Is her decision to find a career In the field of interna tional education. Miss Cooper's- talk was the principal event of the club's an nual international relations pro gram, held this year at the Rogue Valley Country club. In keeping with the international theme United Nations flags and Infor mational maps and charts were displayed. The menu featured rice pilaff and shish-kaboba. Program arrangements were in charge of the international re lations committee headed by Mrs. Inei FrteL The education and vocations committee, of which Miss Eula Wintermote is chairman, arranged table decor- Her ballerina length gown of pale blue dotted rmim orrandy tafrtla was worn with matching mitts. Her neoddress was of shattered white carna tions and she carried a heart- shaped bouquet of carnations and stenphanotis with white tore. Robert Witliatns was best man for his brother. The bride's mother was atttred in a navy blue sutt with white and navy blue act mews. Iter, corsage was of pink rose buds. The bridegroom s motner wore a navy blue and red dresa with white, navy and red accessorws Her corsage was of red roses.
