Local People Attend Adventisf Meetings Several members of the Med ford S e v e n t h-day Adventist church left fhis week to attend the annual Adventist camp meet ing for Oregon, at Gladstone Park, Gladstone, Ore., just out side Portland, June 22 to July 1, according to Pastor O. E. Schnep per. Elder Schnepper, his family and his mother left Monday to take part in the extensive prep arations on the 73 acre camp ground, where nearly 2,000 cab ins and tents are being readied for the expected attendance of 6,000 during the week, and from 12.000 to 15.000 on week-ends. Following the camp meeting, Elder Schnepper will attend the world conference of the Advent ist church at San Francisco, July 10 to 22. Those planning to attend the camp meeting from here include the Elmer Fjarli family, Joe Hoyt family, Almon Archer fam ily, Ira Snyder family, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Merriken, Mrs. F. A. Pefley, and Mrs. Hamer and Mrs. Walker and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Pearce of Jacksonville, and Mrs. Trovillo of Shady Cove. Idahoan to Preach At Medford Church For the next two Sundays the pulpit of the Medford Presby terian church will be supplied by the Rev. Donald B. Black stone, pastor of the First Pres byterian Church of Twin Falls, Ida. Following his two Sundays here, the Rev. Mr. Blackstone will go to Sun Valley. Ida., where he will serve on the fac ulty of the Sawtooth Summer Youth conference. He has long been active in the Youth Work of the Presby terian church, U.S.A.: pioneer organizer of youths in the West minster fellowship. National youth program of Presbyterian church; chairman of the com mittee on Christian education for the Synod of Idaho. Before coming to Idaho, he was pastor of the Church of the covenant on 42nd street in New York City. ' Next Sunday he will speak on the subject, "What on Earth Is God Doing?" On July 2, the sermon theme will be "How Much Do You Want Freedom?" Youth Rally Slated At Ashland Saturday Ashland, June 23 AH young people of southern Oregon are invited to attend a great youth rally to be held Saturday, June 24 at 7:30 p. m. in the junior high school auditorium, Ashland Featured in this youth rally will be a sound film entitled "Cantas Cathedral," which tells the story of Billy Graham's re cent Los Angeles tent revival. The film shows Billy Graham preaching, Beverley Shea, solo ist of the campaign; Cliff Bar rows, song leader, and Stuart Hamblen and Louis Zamperlni, who were converted in the re vival. There will also be special vo cal and instrumental selections from a number of the local churches cooperating in this youth rally. Twenty-three-year-old Evan gelist Jim Swanson, former di rector of Youth for Christ in Ottawa, Canada, and who at present is holding revival serv ices at the Assembly of God church in Ashland, will be speaker. v Church of Nazarene Bible School Closes The Daily Vacation Bible school of the Church of the Nazarene closed at noon today, having had an enrollment of over 200. The program of the school will be presented at the Sunday school hour Sunday morning. The Sunday school will con vene at 9:45 and the program will begin at 10 a. m. A combined picnic, which will include Vacation Bible school scholars, Sunday School mem bers and church families and ! friends, will be held at Haw thorne park, on the Jackson street side, Saturday afternoon from 1:30 to 6:30. Games and sports will be un der the leadership of John Kluk kert. The pastor, the Rev. P. J. I Bartram, will speak on The Gospel Hour" over KMED at 9 a. m. Sunday. His message at the 7:30 evening service will be entitled, "At Wit's End Corner." Local Church Plans Family Group Camp Temple Baptist church will sponsor a family group camp at Fir Point campground near Glendale, Ore., beginning Mon day, June 26. Classes in Bibical backgrounds, denominational loyalty and missionary activity will be offered for three age groups. Teachers and camp officers will include, R. E. Milam, ex ecutive secretary of the Baptist General convention of Oregon, and Mrs. Roland P. Hood of the Women's auxiliary. In addition other leaders will include Mrs. Wallace Freeland, Mrs. Floyd Eaves, Mrs. Law rence Gober and the pastor. Rev. Perry M. Johnson from Medford, as well as Rev. and Mrs. A. K. Peveto, Grants Pass, Rev. Floyd Thompson, Crescent City, Rev. J. R. DeLnp, Klamath Falls, and Rev. Ray Riddle, North Car olina.
