E. Horton, 707 South Holly street, moved this week to Can by. Cal., where Horton will be associated with the lumber busi ness. From Vacation Mr. and Mrs. James De Courcey. 663 South Holy street, have returned after a week's vacation. They visited friends in Lewiston, Ida., Enter prise, Ore., and returned by way of the upper Columbia river highway and Portland. They also visited friends in Albany. Leave for East Mr. and Mrs. Earl W. Weaver, 841 East Ninth street, left this morning by Unit ed Air lines for a vacation trip to the east coast. They plan to fly as far east as Lansing. Mich., where they are taking delivery of a new car. They will drive on to New York, Washington, D.C.. and other points in the east ern states before returning home. McBee, 2252 Table Rock road, have returned after attending University of Ore gon commencement exercises in Eugene. Mrs. Holbrook's son. Warren Holbrook, was a member of the graduating class. He re ceived his bachelor's degree in architecture and allied arts. Mrs. Warren Holbrook, the former Jacquelynn McBee, is a daughter of Mrs. McBee. The couple will remain in Eugene for the summer while Holbrook attends the sum mer session to study toward his master's degree there. He will continue school in fall. Ier ness, 629 South Holly street. Mother Dies Mrs. Mary E. Jacoby, 76. mother of Mrs. James J. Finegan, 618 South Holly street, died today at her home, Croton on the Hudson, N. Donald Mil ler, 36, of 3210 North Pacific highway, received a painful knee injury early today when a plank flew out of a trimsaw he was operating at Table Rock Lumber company, Tolo. He was taken to Sacred Heart hospital by Conger-Morris ambulance. Legion Election Set The an nual election of officers is sched uled for meetings of the Ameri can Legion and the auxiliary at the armory Wednesday night. Additional nominations will be received from the floor before the polling begins. Members of the auxiliary will serve refresh ments to the two organizations after the business meetings. Chair Fire Cause of a chair fire about 4:30 a.m. today at apartment 7, Cargill court, Sixth and Ivy streets, was unknown late this morning, firemen said. The department had two calls last night. Santa Fe turned the trick when it soared to a new high since 1931. Other carriers firmed from their lows and nickel plate re gained part of a 3-point loss. The net result was a new high since November 4. 1048. in the rail stock average. Committal services will ba in Central Point cemetery. Uette Belle Hamilton was born in Fairfax, Mo Feb. 26, 1881, the daughter of Jacob and Drewsilla Glaskin. She was unit ed in marriage to Ernest C. Ham ilton on Dec. 16, 1900, in Mill creek, Mo., and the family came to southern Oregon about 1910, Surviving, in addition to her husband, are three sons, Orvllle C, Central Point; and Lester G. and Alvin G., both of Talent; three daughters. Mrs. Erma L. Cooper, Dunsmuir, Cal.; and Mrs. tvelyn H. okyrman and Mrs. Elizabeth Jane Pinkham, both Central Point; and ten grand children.
