f Sanitation Group Issues Order To End Pollution Portland, Ore., May 11 (U.R) The state sanitary authority has Issued a final order to Oregon Pulp and Paper mills to halt pol lution of the Willamette river but extended the deadline from December, 1951. to May, 1952. The authority, in an elabora tion of its earlier findings, said that 84 per cent of pollution in the Willamette originates with pulp and paper mills at Oregon City, West Linn, Newberg and Salem. Regarded at Victory The authority also asserted that a pulp and paper mill at Lebanon was responsible for about 91 per cent of pollution on the South Santiam, a tribu tary of the Willamette. Fish conservationists regard ed the authority's decision as a victory because they had con tended that waste material en tering the Willamette periodic ally depleted the oxygen con tent to the point where fish life was impossible. The authority granted the mills extra time to work out processes for disposal of waste polluting matter. The mills had asked for more time on grounds that cost of installing processing facilities would be "exorbitant" and careful planning was neces sary. Dr. Sander Loses Medical Connection Milford, N. State banks had investments in loans and discounts of 30.5 per cent of total assets and na tional banks, of 28.1 per cent. Most of the decrease in depos its is reflected in the deposits of state and political subdivisions, Rogers said, but the deposits of individuals and corporations showed loss of about $4,000,000. vestiges of his connection with ! medicine. 1 Latest blow to the career of the 41-year-old Candia physician, acquitted in the mercy death of a woman cancer patient, came last night when the society re voked his membership at a spe cial meeting.
