Multnomah Sheriffs
Receive Suspensions
Portland. Ore., Apr. 22 U.R
Sheriff Terry D. Schrunk said
today he has suspended two
Multnomah county deputy sher
iffs on a general charge of con
duct unbecoming an officer.
The suspended officers were
Joseph Muzyn and Edward J.
Grohs.
Echrunk said the suspensions
were an outgrowth of a house
warming last Tuesday night at
the home of Rex Lowry, another
deputy sheriff. Schrunk said
Muzyn and Grohs were report
ed to have left their district
while on duty and to have driv
en to Lowry s home .more than
a mile away.
While they were there, three
or four shots were fired and a
small amount of damage caused
in the residence, Schrunk said.
The suspensions were made
indefinitely until the sheriff
studies a report by a disciplinary
committee composed of captains
in the uniform division. Two oth
er deputies who left their dis-.
trict for a few minutes to deliver
a present to the Lowrys were
reprimanded by the sheriff.
